ShipStation’s new layout (formerly called V3) does currently show when both labels and packing slips have been printed through ShipStation (either via ShipStation Connect or downloaded from the Print pop-up… if you use the browser print option, we cannot track the print status). You can see the print status in the Shipments tab by showing the Label Printed and Packing Slip Printed columns, or by opening the Shipment Details screen.
We will consider the feedback around auto-printing packing slips when orders import, but there are a number of challenges around this approach that need to be overcome (for example, how to handle when the printer workstation is asleep or there is a hardware issue and printing is unsuccessful – ShipStation doesn’t have a way to receive that kind of feedback from the printer and it would not be desirable to show a packing slip as printed when it actually hasn’t…

This is the WRONG place to display this. Once I've shipped the package I know that the the packing slip was printed. We need this visibility in the "Awaiting Shipment" tab. Please fix this.

Any updates on this? It was requested 7 years ago and has over 300 votes.

Any updates? This would be a time saver for us. Currently we have set up Tags to keep track of what has been printed and what hasn't. But while that works for us, it is still time consuming to do. This would speed that process up for us and save some time. You haven't responded in almost two years to this request. As of this posting it has 301 votes. Can you give us an update?

An automation rule would be great, because then I could determine which orders get printed and when. If I also had the ability to also choose the printer through the automation rule that would be even better. Then I could print international orders to one printer and domestic to another.
For example, (If "International order" print to Canon 1.) (If "Domestic order" print to Canon 2) and run these rules for all orders when they are imported.
If I can't have any of that, just print them to my default packing list printer when they come in. It would save lots of time.

This is a great idea! I really like the automation rule idea. We would use this. That way when we show up at work in the morning, our orders from overnight would already be sitting on the printer and every time a new order was imported, it would be printed. I'm out of votes or I would give this idea 3.

I believe that the issue here is that Walmart does not send the image url with the order. However, if you add the url of your images into the Products section of Shipstation, the images will be displayed on your Wal-mart orders. We have done this and it has fixed this issue for us. If we have a new product that sells on walmart that we haven't imported, we just add the image url at that time. Hope this helps.

Previously our Endicia integration provided the ability to print pay-on-use USPS return labels if your Endicia account was enabled for this feature.
We are currently exploring the pay-on-use option for other USPS postage providers. We will update this post with more information when available.

This is an issue for us as well. A packing slip can be several pages long and it is easy to miscount the quantity that needs to be shipped.

I agree with this. We received several negative feedbacks over the Christmas holidays and if the Amazon Buy Shipping had been enabled through Shipstation, those feedbacks would have been removed. We are now shipping everything through Amazon instead of Shipstation to combat this. It is frustrating to have such a great piece of software, but not be able to utilize it. I know that this cuts into Shipstations margins, because they receive a portion of all Priority packages shipped through their service. However, if you lose all of your customers, what have you accomplished. I know this will fall on deaf ears, but this is something that your customers need.

It would also be useful, because we could contact the customer and notify them of the delay and that we are working to get it corrected.

This would be very useful and money saving. UPS and Fedex provide labels at no charge, but they frown on ordering more than the amount of orders you are shipping. If I could print FedEx to one printer USPS to another and DHL to yet a third, I could save some money on labels.
Another benefit of this would be the ability to print packing slips to different printers. Currently when we print, we have to manually sort all of the packing slips by warehouse location, so that they can be pulled by different employees. Whit this option we could print to each printer based on SKU or any other selectable field.

We also use the tag function for this, but an automated version would be fantastic. If you forget to mark the orders as printed, then you can't print again until you have shipped everything.

This is a great idea! We use DHL for all international orders and we get free labels from them. We are unable to use those labels, since we use USPS for domestic orders.

This is very important to us as well. We ship over 60,000 packages per year. 90% of those orders use the same packaging. The envelope weighs .9 oz and our products have varying weights from .3 oz to 1.2 oz. Since we have to enter whole numbers, we can easily overpay when we ship multiple items. So we weigh every package. If the software would add the package weight and product weight correctly, we would not need to verify the weight of every package and save a lot of time and money.
We have over 15,000 skus and orders with quantities ranging from 1 to 1000’s. There is no way we can include package weight in each of our products. This feature would greatly simplify our workflow. We could auto populate the weight and not have to weigh each package. Please implement this.
