    This is a highly requested feature.     We are looking into whether Etsy includes a gift flag in their order feeds when sending data to ShipStation and what would be needed to update our Etsy integration to accommodate this new field (since this field was not originally built into the integration specs).

    If the integration can be updated and Etsy does send the gift flag, you can then use ShipStation’s automation feature to create alerts, send emails, assign custom templates, etc to any order that contains it. We will update this post when we have more information about this.

    As many of us have been pointing out over the past four years, and multiple times after you replied to the post, Etsy includes gift messages in their API - https://www.etsy.com/developers/documentation/reference/receipt (see fields "is_gift" & "gift_message").

    Etsy's API includes gift messages. No need to "look into" it. I'm not a developer & even I found that with a 10 second search. This is a simple integration that should've been implemented four years ago when this thread was opened.

    I emailed ShipSation about this & a couple other Etsy integrations we need (like due dates) & they just told me to leave feedback. When I mentioned this was one of the highest rated requests & asked why it hadn't been implemented, they said:

    "For these features this is directly related to the integration between ShipStation and Etsy directly. I do apologize for the inconvenience of this and totally understand the need to have these options import to ShipStation.

    While I dont have an exact ETA on when or if these will be integrated to ShipStation but my best recommendation would be to either vote on the existing requests or submit a new request for this feature. This is the direct line of communication for our developers.

    I wish I had a better answer for you on this. Please let me know if you have any further questions. "

    Can't believe this has been going on for years. It's ridiculous this isn't integrated. Etsy says that packing slips won't show prices, but if I can't see the order was a gift, how am I supposed to remove prices?

    With 100+ orders in the queue, it's not practical to have to go through every single order on Etsy to see if it was a gift or not - then manually add the gift message and apply the correct packing slip. Even with an automation set up, it won't automatically print the gift packing slip - I guess because the order wasn't imported as a gift. You have to either reprocess automation rules or manually apply the packing slip whenever you make a change.

    Please implement this! Why does ShipStation continue to overlook the millions of Etsy sellers? ShipStation has all these features like gift messages & ship by dates & yet they just choose not to implement them for Etsy when people have been asking for them for years. It's so frustrating. Not having Etsy's ship by dates load into ShipStation is so detrimental for high-volume Etsy sellers.

    And on top of that, trying to add ship by dates manually is a mess since the bulk edit function on ShipStation goes by days & Etsy goes by business days.

    And any time you question ShipStation about anything, they just say they don't have that feature & tell you to leave feedback. Even when feedback has already been left. And when they actually respond to feedback it's always some non-answer answer claiming they're going to look into it when you know they won't or they would've implemented it 4 years ago.

    Edit: I've been looking into integrations to try to do this myself & it appears Etsy currently doesn't include the ship by date in their API. However, they do include the field "processing_max" (The maximum number of days for processing for this listing) & "creation_tsz" (The date and time the transaction was created, in epoch seconds) which can be added together to get the ship by date.

    Yes, this would be so helpful. So frustrating Shipsation has a ship by date column, but doesn't display that info from Etsy.

    Plus when you set a ship date in Shipstation, you have to select x number of days from the order date. You can't just select a date. Etsy goes by business days while Shipstation goes by actual days, so you can't even set the ship by date yourself without checking your Etsy orders and individually calculating how many actual days after the order date Etsy is saying it should ship.
