I posted in this very thread in 2014 and again in 2015 urging ShipStation to correct its lack of control over the currency listed on shipping/customs documents. Look here:
http://feedback.shipstation.com/users/56518711-kris-wilk
Well, here we are 5+ YEARS later (7 since the thread was created!) and I'd argue that ShipStation has made the situation WORSE, not better.
Now some store integrations pass the correct currency for the order list view, etc. BUT shipping documents are STILL listed in the default account currency. So now new users who THINK they have all the correct values may not realize that their shipping docs are completely wrong.
And for users like me who enter most shipments manually, nothing has changed whatsoever.
As I just mentioned in another post, my company is actively seeking alternatives to ShipStation because of this. Even ones with fewer features and conveniences may win simply because they can present the currency of a purchase correctly throughout the shipping process.

Seriously, you need clarification of the problem?? Have you READ the posts in this thread?
I posted about this on Oct 24, 2014. To reiterate: my company is in Canada but conducts ALL business in USD. My SS account is forced to CAD and as a result all the values that should be in USD are presented on customs forms as CAD. This is a huge mess whenever customs inspects the shipping documents and our invoices.
Some sort of control over the active currency needs to be provided to address this situation, among others!

I just realized that all my sales, which are specified in USD, are being reported on carrier customs documents as CAD. This is a total nightmare for customs clearance, when agents compare our invoices (USD) to the shipping documents (CAD).
We MUST have the option to specify what currency we're doing business in. Yes, we're a Canadian company, but all of our sales are conducted in USD. Many (most?) Canadian companies doing business worldwide are the same.

I've sent packages to the wrong address several times now because of this insane shortcoming of ShipStation. How is it that an ONLINE SHIPPING PORTAL does not allow the user to edit customer's SHIPPING ADDRESSES.
Uploading CSV files is not a solution. This problem has existed for YEARS now.
What are you waiting for, ShipStation??

Hey @Kris, thanks for bringing this up! You’re right about logging out of your Windows user will not allow ShipStation Connect to run. This is something we’re reviewing for the future. For now, we’d like to hear from others on this before moving forward.

2 years since the original comment...and you certainly aren't the only one. We're one of the many Canadian businesses that conduct all our business in USD. But ever since starting with ShipStation, all our generated docs are in CAD, no option to use USD. This is ridiculous and is causing us to consider other option which are inferior in many other respects but actually get this ONE thing right.
ShipStation, please let us change the default currency for all activities on our account!
