    Hello everyone,

    I’ve posted the following response to our ShipStation community thread and want to also share here for transparency:

    Thank you for your candor with your feedback. We definitely understand and appreciate that the lack of responsiveness on this specific issue has been frustrating. We are working internally to improve how we review and respond to feedback so this doesn’t keep occurring in the future. And we apologize for failing to meet our users’ expectations around this feedback. We will do better and changes are already happening.

    Our product team is investigating how to implement a workable solution for this that will not impact other existing functionality and properly uses the notification service that’s embedded in ShipStation. There are really two issues here that need to be addressed and they don’t affect all users equally:

    Spam – ensuring the notification makes it to your user without getting filtered to…

    Kudos to @lunacoffee for bringing up this very important issue recently in the Community Forums. And also kudos to @nick for providing a very useful, though not ideal and hopefully temporary, workaround: "remove your email address from your store setup page" and the "customer will get the email."

    ★ ★ ★ HOW TO EDIT CUSTOMER DATA ★ ★ ★

    I have noticed that this has been an issue for other ShipStation customers since at least 2016 and I also know that it is technically not a bug. But since the system replaced what I manually typed into ShipStation twice, as far as I am concerned, it is a "bug".

    At the very least, this should be made absolutely clear at some point during the process, so we all could have avoided this issue in the first place.

    I wasted a full day trying to resolve the issue on my end, so hopefully the following information will help someone out and save them some time.

    What I have learned:

    ★ Export Raw Customer Data even though it may not contain all customers: bit.ly/3nzfp9K

    ★ Add customer records via CSV, using the email as the username: bit.ly/36TWtvQ

    ★ Combine customer records on the 'All Customers' page after updating customer records via CSV because import seems to work unreliably.

    ★ Verify shipping addresses more than once, even when you are in a hurry!

    We have just found out about this "bug" after we shipped a large quantity of products to the wrong address. Even after we manually changed the address, it still replaced the address with one of a similar name. Unacceptable! Please fix this ASAP!
