@James, thanks for checking in on this one. We’re still interested in this idea and we don’t have a timeline on it. This is something that will need further investigation from our end as well as working with UPS to be able to further integrate Hazardous Material support.

Hey folks, another bump here looking for an answer, especially given the Fedex API updates. Can we please get a look at this? Hazmat is a big market, and I'd be willing to pay an extra premium for this service, maybe an extra $50-$100 a month if it prints everything properly.

James Moore Ideal Calibrations commented  ·

Hey Folks, been a bit over a half year now, so I wanted to check in. Fedex has a great API running strong, and you can see companies that are currently using them here: http://www.fedex.com/us/hazardous-materials/dgready.html

Looks like a decent system, and it would be a phenomenal upgrade to Shipstation. I'm sure the guys at Fedex would love to have you on board.

James Moore Ideal Calibrations commented  ·

Hey Team, thanks for the response! I literally JUST saw an email from Fedex after you responded. It's saying they just released a Dangerous Goods API. You can find the link to the email here: https://view.message.fedex.com/?j=feca15777563047b&m=fe921372756d067475&ls=fe6016717d62067d7d10&l=ff9c1572&s=fe5f16717d66037d7c17&jb=ff3515747064&ju=fe8a10757763007473&cmp=EMT-1004254-1-1-200-1000000-GLBL-US-EN-2017SOFTWAREREL&ET_CID=170706&ET_RID=21827093&LINK=vawp&r=0 Sorry for the length, but they didn't have any easy link available. This might give you guys something you can actually work with. Even if you're able to only cover ORM-D and Limited Quantity Exceptions in early releases, it would cover a great deal of our needs.

Thanks again, love shipstation and this forum. You guys are doing a way better job in the community than the likes of Xero and others I've seen. Thanks for the hard work.

Hey Shipstation team, I'm just curious about an update here. I know it says Under Review, but I was wondering if we could hear some news on how that review is coming? Thanks!

    Hello,

We ship compressed gas cylinders N.O.S. (UN1956 2.2) through both Fedex and UPS and both are a pain in the rear. Would love to be able to do this through Shipstation.

    Hello!

Thank you so much for voting on this feature and helping us continue to improve ShipStation. We are currently reviewing the option to support Dangerous Goods via FedEx and will be sure to update you once we have made a final decision. Please note that our integrated FedEx reseller, FirstMile, does currently support this functionality given their relationship with FedEx. I recommend contacting them for more information.

    Thanks again,
    ShipStation

Hey folks, looking at nearing 4 years now, any movement on this? Could we at least combine the thread with the other hazmat threads on here?

    Best,

    James

James Moore Ideal Calibrations commented  ·

Hey guys, just bumping this and trying to get it combined with the other Hazmat threads. Mind giving us an update?

James Moore Ideal Calibrations commented  ·

Hey guys, can we combine this with this thread: http://feedback.shipstation.com/forums/330429-product-feedback-fresh-ideas/suggestions/5645919-hazmat-service-with-my-already-in-place-contract-f

Might help if we added the votes together, and I still check this religiously. Fedex Hazmat integration would be phenomenal, even if we still had to fill in all the boxes manually and all that. <3

James Moore Ideal Calibrations commented  ·

Just adding my voice of support to this, there's a second thread started already, but Fedex has a hazmat API built and would really be the best. I'd be willing to pay a premium to ship Hazmat through Fedex. Easily worth $50-100 a month extra for me really.

    Hi, everyone! Here’s an update:

We recently added the ability for you to mark your FirstMile DHL Global Mail shipments as “Dangerous Goods” under “Other Shipping Options” where you’ll be able to select “ORM-D” or other types of goods.

If you’d like for us to add it for any other carriers, please let us hear you in the comments section of this forum! Another piece of information that will help is how often you’re shipping these goods.

James Moore Ideal Calibrations commented  ·

Hey everyone, can we get an update on Fedex Hazmat?

James Moore Ideal Calibrations commented  ·

Hey guys, there's a UPS thread that is a bit similar here, so I wanted to cross post as the two threads aren't merged. We would really like to see FEDEX integration, as they look to have the easiest to use API through their DG Ready program. Would probably be the fastest to integrate with if you decide to jump.

Fedex has a great API running strong, and you can see companies that are currently using them here: http://www.fedex.com/us/hazardous-materials/dgready.html

Hey guys, we'd really like to see this in Fedex, and they've recently released the DG Ready API to the wild, so it would really be a great place to pick this up quickly. They have two versions, a full integration and what is basically a "light" variation. Really worth looking into though, as this is a game changer for us who ship hazmat. Current competitors of yours offering this are: Labelmaster, EZ Ship, ShipEasy Platinum.

    Best,

    James

    Hope we see it!

James Moore Ideal Calibrations commented  ·

We could really use this as well, but instead of ORM-D, we use the DOT LQE shipment (pretty **** close, we just stick another sticker on it)

Really, this post could be combined with the Hazmat post, because they're the same (or at least similar) issues. It would get us all more votes in one place :-)

Hi Jason! Thanks for bring this up (and the kudos!) Have you looked into tagging your local orders? This will help increase visibility and you can automate the tagging.

If you’ve got “local pickup” as an option on your store, we can import that value as the requested service (depending on which selling channel you’re using). If the requested service appears, you can make an automation rule that says “If requested service (marketplace) equals local pickup, then apply a tag”.

Once you get there, you can use the mark as shipped method to move the order from awaiting shipment to shipped.

Let us know here in the product feedback forum if you’ve got any questions or more information to clarify your idea.

James Moore Ideal Calibrations commented  ·

This should probably be combined with those of us asking for a custom shipping service for these things. I'm in agreement with the OP here. We do a lot of in store pickups as well. The problem is that when you look at the order looking up history, it tends to show up as "No Prior Shipments" if it was "Marked as Shipped" which is confusing to the user.

We'd really like the Mark As Shipped tracking info to be added to the order page. We've given incorrect info to customers a few times because of this.

Thanks for your feedback! We’d like hear other scenarios from other users so we can revisit this idea. What specific workflow requires shipping unpaid orders? What is the most frustrating thing about having to ensure orders are paid for before you ship them (or mark them as paid)? We look forward to hearing more from you!

James Moore Ideal Calibrations commented  ·

This would REALLY help us out. I'd love to be able to flow orders in from my Manual Store, and then mark them as paid either through the API or manually. We ship almost all of our in house orders on NET30 payable, so this would help.

Thanks for leaving your thoughts, everyone! We’ll keep this in mind; for now, please leave your votes and comments to help keep this discussion active. Being specific in how this would affect your workflow and how you’re currently doing it will help our product team to implement new features.

For now, as an alternate workflow suggestion, you could be marking these orders as shipped. You would want to set the carrier to “Other”, and then use the tracking field for your “Pickup” or “Pallet Delivery” custom message.
Here’s an article to go over marking orders as shipped in case its needed: https://help.shipstation.com/hc/en-us/articles/206640507

James Moore Ideal Calibrations commented  ·

Hey guys, I'd just like to add on that we do a lot of customer pick up orders here, and I'd really like an easier way to keep these shipments within the ShipStation workflow. "Custom Shipping Method" just printing a label with the customer information and order number would be enough for me. I don't need anything super fancy, but I understand where the other users are coming from. For my +1, I'd like a way of marking that "Custom Shipping Method" as being actually picked up, but I think I can handle that internally.

I would really like this as well. Most of the time with an RMA, I'm not shipping my customer a prepaid label. They just need to send it back. Ideally, once this is received I'd like to be able to actually mark it as "received and approved" before re-shipping them their replacement. This would really help us out.

    Best,

    James
