Hey, everyone! We’re still interested in this idea since it gained a lot of support when it first came out. Can you tell us more about customizable views and user permissions?

As per our last update, have you tried using User Restrictions to allow your new shippers to only see orders assigned to them?

Also, I’d like to mention we have weekly webinars (http://www.shipstation.com/webinars/) and tutorial videos (http://www.shipstation.com/videos/) to help!

No feedback on this? Is no one else using the "Assign" feature to manage shipping across multiple fulfillment locations?

We have multiple fulfillment locations, each with ShipStation accounts and shipping terminals. As each location is able, they assign orders to themselves and begin fulfillment.

Unfortunately, when an order is assigned to a user, ShipStation does not update the list of orders to reflect this for all logged in users. Instead, other users must manually "reload" the list of orders.

This makes it very easy for one location to re-assign an order to itself after it has already been assigned to a different location. There are a number of "solutions" that would fix this problem.

    1) Warn a user that an order is already assigned if a user attempts to re-assign.

    2) Reload the list of orders for all locations whenever a user at any location assigns an order.

    3) Treat assigning an order similar to how shipping an order currently works. That is, grey out the order in the order list for all users and display the orange warning message that X many orders have changed and the user should reload.

Any of these solutions would work for our use case.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We haven’t seen any activity since our last update (you can read them by clicking “Show previous admin responses” in the forum) so we are closing it to give your votes back. This allows you to use your votes on other ideas and will help us prioritize the most active ideas.

Please let us know if you’re still interested in this idea, and we’ll re-open it to see what other users think with the added information. All of your input is on our radar and we appreciate your insights!

Not original requester, but this is an important feature for us. We have multiple fulfillment centers and want to track shipping costs, number of orders shipped, value of orders shipped, etc back to each Ship From location. It happens that, like the original requester, we have locations tied to usernames, so grouping by either would be OK, though Ship From would be my preference.
