Thank you all for voting and commenting.
The product team is reviewing your request and you’ll hear from us once we have made a decision.
Some additional feedback we would love to hear:
How often do you combine orders each week?
Are there times you do not want to combine orders even though they are going to the same location?
Feel free to add any more information that will help us make an informed decision by commenting here in the forum!
Yeah, no joke. This is a feature that I am getting VERY TIRED of waiting on. I can't think of more of a no brainer than this feature. One person on here made it sound like rocket science that would be incredibly hard to implement. All that is needed to start with is a VERY simple added rule to the automation area to "combine orders".
After that, perhaps more in depth automations can be added, like exactly what type of orders to combine, etc. But a simple "combine all orders from the same buyer" would suffice for many sellers, such as myself. The same buyer could be matched simply by having the same name and address.
A web designer should be able to have this feature added before their first coffee break in the morning. It's not that difficult. So I don't see why this even needs to be "under review" for so long! Add this feature and let's move on!
I'm quiet sure the VAST majority of sellers would implement it into their workflow. It's not like we all sell refrigerators, that require separate shipments.
I think the best way to go is to make it into an option. So it can be changed. Or maybe have it under the automated rules so it can be set to do it to either all orders or to just ones specified. It shouldn't be hard at all to add it as another rule. It should be a 15 minute job for a web designer I would think. This has been discussed at length by people on here, but it's a quiet simple solution actually. Just add it as an optional rule.
I just noticed they started work on something that should do the trick. Here's a link,
Yeah, this shouldn't even need to be "under review". I think this is a feature that is obviously a necessity. Talk about a no brainer!
Basically what I mean is, rather than having to go down the list and manually combining them, it would be awesome if orders would automatically combine when they are from the same customer. As far as them being matched by the email address, I'm not totally sure, but I think amazon scrambles email addresses differently for each order. They should be matched according to name and address. I only sell a few items that ship individually. All of my other items can be combined in one package. So combining orders automatically should be an option that can be changed to be automated if the seller prefers. I'm sure there are sellers that wouldn't want it to do it to all orders automatically, but some sellers like myself would.
Considering it should only take a few minutes to program this feature, this idea is 3 or 4 years old and is something almost every seller needs, you would THINK it would have done long before now. This is a feature that should be a shoe in. Why hasn't it been done? This yet another unnecessary thing that I have to manually search for and do before I ship every time.
Thanks for leaving your thoughts, everyone! This is definitely still on our radar; for now, please leave your votes and comments to help keep this discussion active.
I like shipstation, I think you'll find they are VERY frustratingly slow on implementing some common sense things like this. We haven't even been able to get them to come up with a good way to automatically combine orders from the same customer even though it would benefit 80% of sellers or more. Yet they work on implementing things that I'm sure don't benefit more than 1% of sellers. Go figure, lol.
Things like this decimal point situation, shouldn't take more than an hour or two of their web designers time, but it gets treated like it's an overwhelmingly large thing to get done.
@tmpgarment – Thanks for bringing this up! Like you said it may not be possible at all and it depends if each Selling Channel sends us this information. We’ll keep this in mind for future updates, but for now we’d like to see more support in this idea before moving forward.
So if you’re interested in this idea, please add your votes and comments to help!
