The ability to automatically split items into separate shipments is now on the ShipStation product roadmap.
We will set this request to completed once the feature has been officially released.

Need this, shocked like everyone else that rules cant be applied to do this automatically.
Also, when you fix this, make sure that the box size carries over properly. There are some bad caching bugs with your interface. When a shipment is split, the new shipment row tries to select a package size based on if the item has a saved preference already (which it does). Nothing appears in the dropdown as already selected as you expected. Click the dropdown to see the options and find the one you want to pick, and lo and behold the one you want is already selected, but its ghosted because it didnt show up, so you need to click any other item, then go back and click the one you wanted at the start.
The first screenshot you can see its blank, so you go to click it. Then when you click it you see what you want is already selected, and if you click that same package size you want, to confirm it, it returns again all white. So the workaround is to pick another box size, then go back and pick the correct one. This is slam my face in a wall all day long annoying.Shipper supported this idea ·

Hey @Alex, thanks for posting this! Printing gets a little tricky to talk about since there are a few different ways to set these up. What kind of formats/paper sizes are you looking to print for your labels-only, packing slips-only, and both label + packing slip?

Voted! When printing labels, the shipstation connect sends them to my label printer just fine but I need to manually send them to the packing slip printer. How to fix this? I suppose it should be a setting by now but I cant find it in the document options or anywhere else.

Thank you for this feedback. We will be considering more automation around splitting and combining shipments in our 2021 roadmap.
Auto-combining is a bit more technically intensive than auto-splitting as it requires certain data fields to be validated and matched, but we are definitely exploring how to accomplish this.

Do not combine my orders! Make sure this is a setting that we can opt out of!

Hey @josesepulveda! Thanks so much for taking the time to bring this up! Can you tell me more about the orders you’re splitting? For example, are you always splitting off one particular product because it may be too large to fit into one box?

I voted on the other thread but why not throw some votes at this one also. Need rules to split orders magically, what a waste of time, the whole idea of shipstation is to let us automate our shipping workflows. Come on guys!

Would everyone who voted here change your votes to a 3 please if you have available voting credits? Need to get this ranking higher as it has fallen out of the top ten as of now. They need to build this basic necessity, it's a huge waste of time for way too many people every day to need to do this manually.
