Product Feedback & Fresh Ideas
The ShipStation Feedback Forum collects your ideas and allows you to vote and comment on other ideas so our product team can understand what new features are most important to you or what business challenges we need to address next.
Suggestions for Writing a Great Idea Post
- Write a title to succinctly summarize your post. Other users should be able to identify if their idea is similar to yours just by reading the title so they will know to vote and comment on it!
- Explain the problem you are trying to solve and what you think should be added or changed in ShipStation to solve this problem.
- Describe how you would use this feature or how you think it should function to serve your need.
- Attach a screenshot to help illustrate your point.
- Put the idea in the category that best fits what you are trying to accomplish (for example: Order Management, Insights & Reporting, or Printing & Documents).
What to Expect With an Idea
- They are categorized in a logical way. If not, they may move them to the proper category.
- The title accurately reflects the idea content so others can understand. If not, they may edit the post title to help others identify posts they want to vote and comment on.
- That posts are really ideas and not bug reports or issues that require contacting our support team.
- That any request that has an existing solution or can be accomplished with existing features gets a response to let everyone know a solution or feature already exists and how to learn about it.

API branded Tracking Page
We send Shipping Notifications via our own system instead of ShipStation's built in shipping notification emails. We are looking for the ability to link to the branded tracking page. In order to do this we would need the ability to grab the link from ShipStation's API. Is there a way to do this currently? If not, I would like to request this feature.
Thanks!

Hey! I was hoping that you would consider adding 'Faire' as a selling channel.
Faire.com has been growing like crazy & on-boarding sellers in huge amounts since November '18. They've existed much longer (originally known as Indigo Faire I believe) but have grown a lot lately and it seems like most small businesses / makers who wholesale their product are now using it. Would be great to streamline these orders in vs adding them manually. Thank you!

Generate return labels for one or all of the packages in a multi-package shipment
Currently, when generating a return label, you can only generate a label for a single package. Many of our orders are sent as multiple packages. If a customer desires to return there entire order, there isn't an easy way to generate multi-package return labels for an existing shipment. We'd really love this functionality.
110 votesThanks for your input, everyone!
If you’re creating this return yourself from a previously shipped order, you can create however many return labels needed.
Once you’ve created the return label (within the shipment detail screen) for the first line item you’ve selected and created the label, you’ll stay in the returns screen in the order detail screen and press the blue + New Return link.
This will allow you to create separate return labels for your line items.
If this doesn’t work for you please let us know!

Delivery Date Column (and Delivery Estimate column)
We had many orders that didn't get delivered by the carrier estimated delivery dates during the holiday ordering period. Now, I'd like to request refunds on the delivery fees, but have to backtrack manually to get this information. It'd be great to have both the delivery estimate from the carrier and the actual delivery date as exportable columns.
Thanks!
106 votesHey everyone! Thank you to @Perry who took the time to bring this one up! We’ll keep your feedback in mind, but for now we’re primarily interested in hearing what other users have to say.
If you haven’t already, please let us know your thoughts on this and how you’re doing this today (if at all).

Add decimals to automated weight adjustments
We ship mostly with USPS first class and use light poly envelopes to ship items out which weigh .5oz-2oz. ShipStation allows you to have products to the tenth decimal, but when we use the automation features to add the dunnage factor of a .3oz envelope, we can only do whole numbers. This actually does make a difference in high volume/low profit businesses where a bump in first class price can make all the difference.

Please add the option for us to print USPS Labels on 4-label sheets.
Please add the option for us to print USPS labels on 4-label sheets. This allows for less waste when throwing away the back page because we can get 4 labels per sheet instead of two. It also saves on printer ink.
103 votesHi, everyone! Thanks for the links to the labels you have in mind! Those are really helpful!
Please continue to give us additional links if you find your label sheet isn’t here and how 4-label sheets are more beneficial to your businesses than our other label formats.
The product team will review your idea and you’ll hear from us once we have made a decision.

transfer manual order
For example we have 3 business running and they don't have an option to export the orders (it's not amazon/ebay).
So we use 3 manual stores and sometimes we have errors, an order that is shipped from 1 manual stores, actually needed to be shipped from other.
Having an option to transfer order would be great.

Merge US carriers and Canadian carriers in one account
We would like to add the Canadian carriers under our US account in ShipStation. We have warehouses in USA and Canada, and sometimes it's cheaper to ship the Canadian orders from USA.By having all the carriers into 1 account, we can easily compare the shipping cost and choose the right warehouse and right carrier. Now we have to create separate account and navigate between the accounts to do that and also pay 2 subscriptions.
103 votes27 comments · Selling Channels, Carriers & Other Connections · Flag idea as inappropriate… · Admin →Hello,
Thank you for submitting this request/voting and helping us to improve ShipStation! We are currently reviewing options to consolidate accounts. However, our current infrastructure and partnership with carriers does not allow us to merge the accounts at this time though. We will be sure to let you know once we have an update!
Thanks for you for your support,

Print second page of packing slip when printing half shipping label, half packing slip
Greetings Ship Station Tech Team,
My name is Jeffrey Roberts and I am a developer for VMR Products, http://www.v2cigs.com
We are currently building out a new site using Magento, and we are going to be using Ship Station as our shipping solution. We have one hang up though. We currently ship over a thousand orders everyday, and sometimes as high as 4 thousand or more orders on sale days. Approximately 1% of our orders have a total line item count greater than 20, and our highest line item count to date is 93. Ideally, we would like to print the…
100 votesHi, @everyone! Can you help put this into perspective and add how often (relative to your single page packing slips) you’re needing to print additional pages?
For example, in a week 3/4 of your orders require a single page for packing slips and the remaining 1/4 require 2 pages; very rarely does an order need more than 2 pages.

Need Profit Reports
This program is really good for my Amazon, but its misisng the ability to add Profit Reports, you should create a field where users can input the Cost, the Packaging, and then the shipping automatically gets calculated after a label is printed of course.Should also need to pull the amount the sellers receives after fees from each order.
94 votesWe’re currently researching and gathering input on all the requirements for true profit reporting.

Allow Cart Attributes to be Mapped to CustomFields (Shopify)
Allow specific Shopify Cart Attributes to be mapped to ShipStation's CustomFields. This would need to be based on the key of the Shopify Cart Attribute. For instance, the Cart Attribute with the key of "date" might be mapped to "CustomField1".
Cart attributes are Shopify's primary extensibility point for individual orders, allowing app, theme, and shop developers to add custom properties to an order:
https://help.shopify.com/themes/customization/cart/get-more-information-with-cart-attributes
CustomFields (e.g., CustomField1) are the analogous concept in ShipStation:
ShipStation currently imports Shopify Cart Attributes as part of the [Notes From Buyer] field. ShipStation, however, does not allow Shopify Cart Attributes to be mapped to…

Splitting Multiple orders Simultaneously
It would be nice if we could split multiple orders simultaneously. We usually deal with 10k + orders that we have to split. It takes up a lot of time to split these orders especially since my team is small. This would speed up our process.
92 votesHey @josesepulveda! Thanks so much for taking the time to bring this up! Can you tell me more about the orders you’re splitting? For example, are you always splitting off one particular product because it may be too large to fit into one box?

Allow sending Shipment Notifications to multiple email addresses
We have many many clients who want shipping notifications sent to multiple people in their organizations. Or, with some clients, we want a notification sent to both us and them.
ShipStation currently allows on email address, despite the fact that the email address field can contain at least 757 characters (I didn't feel the need to check for more than that).
All of the email systems I'm familiar with allow for multiple email addresses to be listed by using a separator, usually a comma or a semi-colon, to distinguish between unique email addresses, like this:
"name1@company.com;name2@company.com;…91 votes -
Create Return Label Via API
Our site allows customers to request an RMA. When we approve an RMA request, I want to automatically create the return label and email it to the customer via the API.
89 votesThank you all for adding your ideas to the forum here! We’ll keep this in mind when updating our API; for now, we’d like to see what other users think about having return labels generated through the API before moving forward here.

Better Print Options (Label, Slip, Both)
I found the print drop down options did not do what I expected. The option for labels prints both the label and packing slips. The packing slip option just prints packing slips. What do you think about it being:
--Labels (just labels)
--Packing Slips (just slips)
--Both (both)84 votesHey @Alex, thanks for posting this! Printing gets a little tricky to talk about since there are a few different ways to set these up. What kind of formats/paper sizes are you looking to print for your labels-only, packing slips-only, and both label + packing slip?

We need an end of day report for UPS that is scannable.
We need an end of day report for UPS that is scannable. Having only the electronic transmission is keeping the customer from tracking packages as the distribution center doesn't always get the scans when the packages go through the site. Plus the electronic transmission doesn't capture when the packages leave our dock.

Unicode (non-Roman characters) support
We have a company store that sells to the world market. Countries in Asia (Chinese/Japanese/Korean) use 2-byte, non-Roman, unicode characters in their names and addresses. These address will have last characters filtered or altered when printed. It is annoying and risky to loss, not able to print them properly. As more and more companies sells internationally, it is good to prepare ShipStation ready for world markets.
83 votesThank you for your feedback.
ShipStation does already support unicode characters. Orders using these characters can be imported successfully and other documents, like packing slips, can print from ShipStation with these characters (see this example of an order using Kanji in the Ship To address with a packing slip in ShipStation: https://www.screencast.com/t/F0v4sm81hEls)
However, many carrier label APIs will not accept these characters when we send them with the label request, which is why they often print with the ??? in place of the characters. This is why we recommend translating the Ship To address to use Roman characters.
However, as part of our expansion into non-English speaking markets and general internationalization effort, we’ll be looking into what carriers don’t have this limitation so we can provide more thorough documentation around it later in 2021. For any carrier that does accept unicode characters and can print them on the label,…
