  1. Split an order from Order Details view

Splitting orders for partial fulfillment is a very common activity for me, but the process is very clunky. I'm hoping that I'm just missing something that will make it easier.Right now, it appears I can only split an order by pulling up the Orders view (with or without a filter), selecting one order, digging around for the well-hidden "Split Order" option under the "Other Actions" button, and performing the split from there. One of the reasons this is cumbersome is that I spend more time in the Order Details view determining how the order needs to be split. I have…

  2. Would love to have a tags column for the Shipments Page

We use tags for both new orders and shipped orders, it would be great to be able to add the 'tags' column in the shipping window.

Thanks for voting! We’d like for your ideas to gain more traction before making a decision. Can you tell us your use case for tagging your Shipments? We’ve received well-stated examples in the comments, but would like to hear more voices stand behind this idea.

Please comment here in the forum so we all can hear your thoughts!

  3. Allow the ability to specify a weight for "Your packaging"

To get accurate rates we've been adding the weights of packaging to the weights of each of our SKUs. But when multiple SKUs are ordered at once, the weight ends up being higher and we could potentially be over-charged.If we could input weights for our packages we've created under "Your Packaging" we could input the actual weight of each SKU and could end up with more accurate order weights and shipping rates.

  4. Pay-on-use return label emailing

We create pay-on-use return labels for every shipment we send out. We want to give customers the option to print their labels at home/office. Please add the ability to check a shipment as requiring the label be emailed to customers (not every customer will want an emailed label, potentially). Thanks!

    Hello,

Thank you for submitting this request and helping us to improve ShipStation! We currently support “pay-on-use” return labels with FedEx and UPS. We plan to add this functionality for USPS and other carriers soon. We’ll be sure to update this request once this feature has been implemented. Please note that we cannot support this functionality unless the provider supports it as well. We’re working hard with our partners to get this added.

    Thanks again!

  5. Import Warehouse Location from Volusion

We would like a way to include "Warehouse Location" in the product attributes that are retrieved from Volusion. We have a custom product attribute in Volusion database for "WarehouseLocation" and it would be great if the that information could be imported to ShipStation

    Hello,

Thank you for submitting this request and helping us to improve ShipStation! We will need to review the integration documentation for Volusion to determine if they are sending us this information. As a third party integration, we can only use information that is sent to us from Volusion. We will update this request once we determine if this is possible.

    Thanks again!

  6. return labels in bulk

We need to print return labels in bulk. With shipstation, we have to do this one label at a time which is tedious. We should be able to make return labels in batches, just like we are able to create labels in batches. One label at a time just does not make any sense at all.

  7. Have one button to print both label and packing slip

It would really help to speed things up if you could choose to prompt the print screens for both labels and packing slips. Creating a printing queue could also help with printing management. Thanks

Hi there! Thanks so much for your feedback on how we can improve ShipStation for your business. We look here to learn about common obstacles for our users so we can work on solutions.

After reading many of the responses, it appears that one of the underlying needs described was to print labels on a 4×6 thermal printer and packing slips on an 8.5×11 printer, which you can now accomplish in ShipStation. http://feedback.shipstation.com/forums/126593-request-a-new-shipstation-feature/suggestions/4446885-print-thermal-shipping-labels-in-conjunction-with

Since you’re asking for the ability to have one button for this function, we’ll leave this request open. Can you give us more detail about about your current workflow and what’s the hardest part not having a button that prints both labels/packing slips simultaneously vs two buttons?

    Thanks,
    ShipStation

  8. As a bio ethanol fireplace seller, we often need to mark FedEx fuel shipments as "ORM-D". Would love to see support for this.

As a bio ethanol fireplace seller, we often need to mark FedEx fuel shipments as "ORM-D". Would love to see support for this, even though I doubt there's a lot of folks who need it. For us it means having to create a manual label via FedEx which on it's own wouldn't be terrible if orders only contained fuel, but when orders contain multiple items and only one shipment box is fuel, it gets cumbersome. Thank you! -Salvage Design

    Hi, everyone! Here’s an update:

We recently added the ability for you to mark your FirstMile DHL Global Mail shipments as “Dangerous Goods” under “Other Shipping Options” where you’ll be able to select “ORM-D” or other types of goods.

If you’d like for us to add it for any other carriers, please let us hear you in the comments section of this forum! Another piece of information that will help is how often you’re shipping these goods.

  9. Set insurance amount for carrier in Automation Rules

In our business we have multiple forms of insurance on our shipments as we sell a lot of laptop computers and need to make sure it is safe. Within our FedEx Account we have discounted rates and special policies so we only need to apply a set amount of insurance to each package as it is cheaper to insure it for more or less than the sell price usually. The current option in Automation Rules only allows you to set the Insurance to Carrier, ShipStation Insurance or External/Other.The ability to set the amount of insurance on the shipment as well would…

  10. Insurance on COST, not RETAIL price

When insuring a package, we want to be able to insure just the COST of the product if damaged or went missing, not the RETAIL VALUE. Currently your software takes the full retail value and uses that to determine the insurance amount. This doesn't make sense as shipping carriers will only reimburse you on the cost, not the retail value. This is a fault, as no system is set up like this.If I lose a $1000 item, but it only cost me $100, Fedex will only credit me $100.So why am I paying insurance on $1000 if Iêd never get refunded…

    Thanks for your input, everyone!

Could you provide us where you gathered the information regarding what value the carriers will reimburse you with when you file a claim? We would be interested to know the policy for the popular carriers that you frequently use.

We would also like to hear more about your workflow – how are you currently insuring your shipments?

We will also be reaching out to our partners for more information regarding cost vs. retail price vs. insured amount.

Any additional information that you can provide for us would be appreciated! Please be sure to comment back here so other users can collaborate as well.

  11. Ability to Rename Batch

The ability to rename batches would be great. There is now the ability to have multiple batches, which great for sorting orders waiting to be fulfilled. However, it is not very easy to sort without memorizing which batch # is for which group of orders for that day. If there was a way to even add a keyword to the end of the batch number [ex. batch#1234567 - product] So that when I am sorting through a zillion orders assigning them to each batch they need to be in, it is much easier to remember which batch to put them…

  12. Rate calculator country selection improvement

When using the rate calculator, the process of selecting a destination country is awkward, especially compared to the country selector in the "manual order entry" window.Let's say I'm shipping to Thailand...In the manual order entry window:- click or tab over to the country box- start typing "Th" and instantly, the text autocompletes to "Thailand"...no hunting requiredIn the rate calculator:- click on the current country- must use mouse to scroll through the entire list and then click on the country...This may seem like a little thing, but I'm way slower slogging around with my mouse than using my keyboard.Seems like all…

We would like to see the date added on the Shipment Manifest. It used to be in the title of the shipment manifest on the old ShipStation, but it is not on the new ShipStation's Shipment Manifest at all. Please add it back to that document.

  14. The ability to have decimal points in the quantities.

We sell items by weight, so when someone purchase 1.25 lbs it shows up as a quantity of 1.25. Shipstation rounds this up to a quantity of 2 which makes all our packing slips and international shipping labels incorrect. When a person purchases 1.25 lbs at $80 for instance their international shipping label should show they spent $100 but instead Shipstation rounds it up to $160. This is inaccurate and they will then possibly be liable for duties on something they didn't buy. I don't understand why you wouldn't allow decimal points in the quantities. If you did this it…

  15. Allow shipment of unpaid orders

ShipStation is a great tool for shipping items but it shouldn't force all orders to be paid before they are shipped. We ship a lot of orders that are "paid" by purchase order and having to mark them as paid in ShipStation in order to ship them creates accounting issues. When we pull the orders Into Quickbooks, they come across as paid and we have no automated way of tracking unpaid invoices.I like the idea of identifying orders in ShipStation that are not paid but let me decide if I want to ship them!

Thanks for your feedback! We’d like hear other scenarios from other users so we can revisit this idea. What specific workflow requires shipping unpaid orders? What is the most frustrating thing about having to ensure orders are paid for before you ship them (or mark them as paid)? We look forward to hearing more from you!

We are still interested in supporting LTL Freight. However, our current infrastructure does not support any LTL shipping providers. We will continue to review the integration and let you know once any updates occur.

  17. "commercial invoice"

Customs 2014: Combine all requests for fixes (actually government requirements) to Customs forms (both Commercial Invoices and the 3 possible Certificate of Origins) so that they are completely system generated within ShipStation.currently there are about a dozen different requests to all focused on the incomplete customs forms generated out of SS. if you cant API to our existing complete and customs compliant forms from FedEx or UPS, please allow us a template to merge out SS shipping info onto.for any export orders over $2600, the failure of SS to go out to census.gov to get and print the required Electronic…

    Hello,

Thank you for submitting this request and helping us to improve ShipStation! We need to determine if this is possible through the carrier API. We do not actually generate any of the Commercial Invoices or Customs Forms. We send the shipment information to the carrier, then they generate the form in realtime and send it back to ShipStation so you can easily manage/print it. We will let you know once we have an update.

    Thanks again for your request,
    ShipStation

  18. Adjust weight listed on automatic return labels

Our outgoing shipments are about 8 ounces heavier than the return shipment. Am loving the convenience of the auto-generated return labels to bother manually correcting the weight on the return labels, but would love a feature that allowed me to set the weight of the return shipment to a different amount (in our case, "outgoing weight-8oz").

    Hello,

Thank you for submitting this request/voting and helping us to improve ShipStation! We do have a “beta” integration with Amazon Japan. You can get added to the beta by contacting our support team and requesting access. You’ll need to follow these instructions and provide them with the correct information though:

Go to http://developer.amazonservices.jp, click Sign up for MWS, and log in with your Amazon Seller credentials.
Select the “I want to give a developer access…” option, and enter:
    Developer Name: ShipStation
    Developer Account No: 6817-6310-0763
Follow the prompts, then copy the Seller ID and MWS Auth Token into your email to support.

They should be able to enable this store on your account for you.

Please note! Most US carriers do not support foreign characters on the labels. This means you’ll need to translate the recipient information before a label can be created.

check out lightspeedretail.com, it is a complete POS for retail brick and mortar and webstore, does the inventory, enables you to check inventory from anywhere you can get a wifi connection! Works off a laptop, iPad and iPhone, good for trade shows, etc etc, a shipping interface would be PERFECT!
