ShipStation’s Feedback and Fresh Ideas Forum is moving!


We have started the process of moving our ideas forum to a new home in the ShipStation Community.

As of August 4th, 2021, this Feedback and Fresh Ideas Forum is no longer accepting new ideas, votes, or comments. However, this forum will remain visible until shortly after the new Ideas board on the ShipStation Community goes live. After that date, this forum will no longer be visible.

If you would like to post an idea after August 4th but before the new Ideas board is live, we have created a temporary discussion board in the community for you to do so. Once our new Ideas board is live, our moderator will move all posts to their permanent home.

ShipStation has used this same forum since we released our very first version back in 2011. In that time, we’ve implemented hundreds of our users’ ideas! But, as our users and our product has evolved, we’ve realized the way we seek and manage our users’ feedback must evolve as well. Starting in September, all feedback and ideas discussions will take place in the Ideas board of the ShipStation Community

If you are not already a member of the ShipStation Community, please join! You can participate in user discussion boards, read exclusive community blog posts, earn rewards through community exclusive events, and much more. To join, go to community.shipstation.com and click the profile icon. You’ll be prompted to log in to your ShipStation account and then redirected back to the community where you can set your unique username and customize your profile (if you wish). Once registered, you can participate in any discussion on the community. 


What will happen to the existing Feedback and Fresh Ideas posts?


Unfortunately, we cannot move all ideas to the new Ideas forum. The posts we are not moving are being set to the  "Archived" status in this forum.


The posts we do move will maintain their statuses, voter count, comments, and link to the original poster. 

Posts we will move to the new Ideas board: 

  • All posts in Started, Planned, and In Consideration Queue statuses.
  • Some posts in the Under Review status or with no status, based on post age, recent activity, vote count, and relevance.
  • Posts that have been set to Completed within the last 12 months.

  1. Create "Ship to" Locations

    ShipStation currently offers the ability to provide standard "Ship from" locations.

    Can you please add the same for "Ship to"?

    I ship to the same addresses on a weekly basis and it would be great to automate that. Typing it in every time is onerous!

  2. Live rate for FedEx One rate

    Allow the customer at the time of checkout to get a live rate for the FedEx One Rate shipment.

  4. Shopify Click and collect

    Shopify now allows enables customers to Click and Collect from a local store on you shopify account.

    Can Shipstation differentiate Click and Collect orders and tag them or place them on a Click and Collect tab so staff do not send these to the default billing address that ship station defaults to from shopify.

  5. Delay shipping notification for manual stores

    I use OrderDesk to send orders to ShipStation and batch process labels for our customers. ShipStation sends back tracking numbers back to OrderDesk automatically but there is no way to delay the notification until the first carrier scan. ShipStation only offers this setting when you integrate with a marketplace, not set a manual store.

    We have vendor partners we drop ship for and they are requesting this feature.

  6. Shipping Delay Notification In Automation

    We ship perishable items, and if our box doesn't arrive within 48 hours of shipment, then the product is spoiled. Currently, the only way to check the status of each box is to go through each tracking numbers for each shipment of the day which takes way too long. Otherwise, we are only notified about shipping delays because an upset customer emails us asking for a new shipment or refund.

    We would like to put an automation rule with "ship date", and if it's "after X days after ship date" without a successful delivery, then send us a notification. That…

  7. pull weight from etsy Orders

    Shipstation pulls the weight info from EBAY, but not from ETSY, that would be a good tool to add so we don't have to add it manually.
    Its a hassle on hundreds of orders daily specially since there are many different weights for many different items.

  8. Inegrate with Boxstorm for inventory locations

    It would be perfect if you integrated with boxstorm, so the inventory locations would show on the pick list. Or if not, if you had an inventory module like boxtstorms. would pay more for that!

    be able to select multiple zones that may not be contiguous or multiple weights that may not be contiguous

    So if I want to choose zones 1-3, zone 5 and zone 7-8 I could put in something like 1-3;5;7-8 instead of doing each in its own rule - that way I have 1 rule to create instead of 3

    also be able to do the same thing soon shipping weights. greater than or equal to 1, greater than 4 but less than or equal to 7

  10. filing claims for ALL platforms through Shipstation

    Looking for a solution to file claims (not just shipsurance ones) directly through Shipstation. All of the shipping information is already set so it should be to just do a few clicks and upload proof of damage (if that is the case) - Anyone have any ideas or know a developer that can do this app?

  11. Translating Backend Automation Function to Checkout Cart Calculation

    Recently we've been looking to better represent live shipping rates to customers upon checkout. The organic ShipStation live calculation is a step in the right direction; however, it still falls short in providing the cheapest option for the customer. For example, in my store I can ship a half gallon of maple syrup from Vermont to Massachusetts in a USPS Flat rate box for about $8-9.   12. Displayed Shipping Options Schema is Flawed - Not designed for "real world" business

    PROBLEM - The displayed Shipping Options Schema is flawed and not designed for "real world" business and customer needs. We use BigCommerce and process phone, mail, and online orders.

    Here is the specific issue - As per ShipStation customer support staff - For delivery options we have automatic filtering logic that runs and removes any services that have the same or longer delivery time and that are more expensive. Since the Standard shipping has the shortest delivery time and is the cheapest, the other two options are automatically removed.

    The automatic logic is flawed for a number of reasons.

    These Unconfigured Products alerts are super annoying, they are constantly telling me the same thing. I risk missing alerts that I actually care about. How do I turn it off?

  14. Shipstation generates random order numbers on Amazon FBA Fulfillment - Impossible to trace orders

    I use Amazon FBA inventory to fulfill my orders onto Etsy.
    Etsy orders have an order number associated with them.

    It would be great for Shipstation to use that Etsy order number and input into the Amazon shipment and use the same order number.

    That way, when I have an issue with an Etsy order, I can quickly look the order up onto Amazon.

    However, for some reason ShipStation generates a completely random order number that does correspond with anything at all. This makes it impossible to trace orders.

  15. Shipping Weight Alerts

    Shipping weight alerts - alerts the shipping staff member if the weight they enter exceeds the auto enter weight in ship station which can give them a warning or an override option.

    Sometimes wrong upc labels can be attached on boxes this way the shipping manager can find out if everything looks good or not and correct the error.

  16. support for non-roman characters on labels

    Hello! We have a large volume of international mail and can't turn off non-roman characters on Shopify. They are supported for USPS but shipstation just leaves a blank (no ???) on those labels so hard to detect. We have many issues created by this when labels go through with incomplete addresses-- we have to manually look through big batches to try and catch it. When we don't the label still prints with no Errors!!! There at least should be an error alerting us to blank space on expensive international labels that bounce back 2 months later leaving us to DHL…

  18. Default Phone Number Parcelforce

    Please can a default phone number be added when creating labels through Parcelforce

    At present - we cannot bulk create labels as we have to enter every order through shipstation and add a string of zero's if this field is not filled by the customer

    Shipstation is the only platform that is requesting a phone number before the label can be created

  19. Sender's email address as default for shipment issues notifications

    It would be great if we can have a feature wherein the sender's email address is used as default to receive notification when a shipment has been delivered, failed delivery, awaiting for collection so it can be avoided being returned to the sender. It is very time consuming when checking each shipment status.

  20. Pick and scan in batches

    Hello,
    As you have the scan to pack feature, it would be great to have a paperless picking feature where item status is updated while picking in specific batches.
    Ideally, if we can also add or confirm inventory while picking (seeing inventory on hand) while picking, it could help with inventory accuracy.
