ShipStation’s Feedback and Fresh Ideas Forum is moving!


We have started the process of moving our ideas forum to a new home in the ShipStation Community.

As of August 4th, 2021, this Feedback and Fresh Ideas Forum is no longer accepting new ideas, votes, or comments. However, this forum will remain visible until shortly after the new Ideas board on the ShipStation Community goes live. After that date, this forum will no longer be visible.

If you would like to post an idea after August 4th but before the new Ideas board is live, we have created a temporary discussion board in the community for you to do so. Once our new Ideas board is live, our moderator will move all posts to their permanent home.

ShipStation has used this same forum since we released our very first version back in 2011. In that time, we’ve implemented hundreds of our users’ ideas! But, as our users and our product has evolved, we’ve realized the way we seek and manage our users’ feedback must evolve as well. Starting in September, all feedback and ideas discussions will take place in the Ideas board of the ShipStation Community

If you are not already a member of the ShipStation Community, please join! You can participate in user discussion boards, read exclusive community blog posts, earn rewards through community exclusive events, and much more. To join, go to community.shipstation.com and click the profile icon. You’ll be prompted to log in to your ShipStation account and then redirected back to the community where you can set your unique username and customize your profile (if you wish). Once registered, you can participate in any discussion on the community. 


What will happen to the existing Feedback and Fresh Ideas posts?


Unfortunately, we cannot move all ideas to the new Ideas forum. The posts we are not moving are being set to the  "Archived" status in this forum.


The posts we do move will maintain their statuses, voter count, comments, and link to the original poster. 

Posts we will move to the new Ideas board: 

  • All posts in Started, Planned, and In Consideration Queue statuses.
  • Some posts in the Under Review status or with no status, based on post age, recent activity, vote count, and relevance.
  • Posts that have been set to Completed within the last 12 months.

  • Top ideas
  • New ideas
  • My feedback
  1. Have "Notify Market Place" checkbox defaulted.

    We have to check the box for "Notify Market Place" for every single shipment. If a user forgets, the marketplace doesn't get updated and we have orders sitiing in our website listed as processing.

    Seeing as to how having that box unchecked would be the rarity, and having it checked would be the majority, I feel this should be default checked with the option to uncheck if necessary.

  2. bestbuy.ca marketplace

    Shipstation has bestbuy.com but no bestbuy.ca integration. Can this be a quick implentation since your USA bestbuy.com store should not differ much to bestbuy.ca platform.

    We are looking at connecting with Toll priority as a new carrier with our online store. Wandering if this is a carrier you would be looking at integrating with your platform?

  4. DHL eCommerce - v4 API requirement

    An email received today from DHL eCommerce states that:

    "As part of the technology enhancement effort to elevate services for our customers, DHL eCommerce Solutions will sunset the legacy API Product Finder/Rating endpoint (https://api.dhlecommerce.com/info/v1/products) on Friday, May 28, 2021. The v4 platform is fully functional to facilitate all API endpoints, including: Label, Manifest, Tracking, and Rating. For more v4 details, please visit https://api.dhlecs.com/docs.

    The integration to the DHL ecommerce V4 was recently completed and all new connections will automatically use the V4 integration.

    We are migrating existing users to the v4 integration and no action is required on your part for this to occur.

  5. DPD DIRECT SERVICE

    DPD Direct (see image attached)

    The Service we use is not on Shipstation therefore i cant automate my labels.
    i am guessing this will cause issues with other people who used this service

    Could this bee added please.

  6. Square online store integration

    TLDR; Please find a way to connect ShipStation to Square Online.

    I'm on a Weebly site using Square Online and I can't connect to ShipStation. This is a non-starter for me -- I will have to find a different solution for shipping.

    I also have another business where I use Weebly and ShipStation. Because it's an old site, I haven't been migrated to Square Online yet, but I am being prompted to do so by Weebly/Square and when I do, I assume the connection will break and I will have to find a different shipping solution for that business as…

  7. Add Priority Mail Regional and Flat Rate Pricing to Rate Calculator

    Add Priority Mail Regional and Flat Rate pricing to Rate Calculator. Sometimes the cubic / general PM rates are significantly different from the Regional Rate pricing, and it would be useful to see this in one place rather than memorize zone pricing or have to change the package type each time.

    The Regional and Flat Rate options now appear as service options in the Rate Calculator in ShipStation’s new layout (formerly called V3).

    If you are using ShipStation Legacy, you will need to migrate to the new layout to take advantage of this improvement.

  8. (Shopify & Shipstation) Allow Mapping of (Shopify) Order Tags to (Shipstation) Custom Fields

    I need to create an automation where orders tagged "internal" in Shopify are not imported into ShipStation. We need this functionality!

  9. Integrate Amazon Buy Shipping - FedEx One Rate

    Amazon recently integrated FedEx One Rate into their shipping API. Please help make this connection so we ship these through shipstation instead of Amazon's order page.

    FedEx One Rate will not show as an available service unless the package dimensions input exactly match one of the FedEx One Rate standard sizes. If these dimensions match, a FedEx One Rate quote will appear. FedEx One Rate packages are available in the following sizes:

    Package name Dimensions (L x W x H)
    Envelope 1 9.50 x 12.50 x 0.50 inches
    Envelope 2 9.50 x 15.50 x 0.50 inches…

    FedEx One Rate services are available to use in ShipStation. If you do not see them appear in the Service menu, make sure you have enabled the One Rate services in Settings > Shipping > Carriers & Fulfillment. Click the Services link next to your Amazon Buy Shipping account to enable or disable the available services in ShipStation. Once saved, the enabled services should appear in your Service drop-down menu for your orders.

  10. Multiple Package Presets

    It would be helpful to be able to use the presets for packages when having Multiple Packages, vs having to enter dimensions each time. You can have preset packages for single package shipments, why not multiple package shipments.

  11. ** URGENT ** DW1 Royal Mail service - integration required by 31st March

    This is an enforced service change from Royal Mail. All customers using the PS9 service must use the DW1 service as from 1st April. Please integrate the DW1 (INTL Standard Sort 2) service ASAP. Thanks

  12. Add support for Australia Post eParcel "Parcel Post Wine + Signature" service

    Hi,
    Australia Post (eParcel) has a charge code (aka "Service" inside ShipStation's Account Settings | Shipping | Carriers & Fulfillment | Shipping Options) called "Parcel Post Wine + Signature"

    This service is similar to Regular eParcel, so to ship a product we might choose either regular eparcel, express post eparcel, or parcel post wine + signature.

    Currently ShipStation does not provide support for the "Parcel Post Wine + Signature" service.

    It would be great if ShipStation Developers could add in support for the "Parcel Post Wine + Signature" service. My business cannot ship from within ShipStation without this service enabled.

  13. Shipstation get calls update for Magento 2.3

    This is not an idea, but an issue we are having with shipstations api and magento 2.3.3.

    Shipstations api is not pulling in magento 2.3.3's new get calls for order notes.

    Prior to magento 2, the order notes came in as the get call "getCustomerNote" and every update note after that.

    The new get call in Magento 2.3 for any new order notes after the initial "getCustomerNote", is "getStatusHistories".

    Shipstation's api needs to be updated to pull in these calls from Magento 2.3

    How this affects our workflow is.. if a customer places an order, and our team finds it…

    We’ve updated the plugin so order notes should successfully import on your Magento orders again. The 2.2.7 plugin will be available on the Magento marketplace later today.

    If you continue to experience issues with Magento order notes after updating the plugin, please open a support ticket so we can troubleshoot with you further.

  15. Import Customer Comments in Magento

    Any comments that the customer leaves to the order, can it be mapped from Magento 2 store to ShipStation in the order details.
    Can you please add an attribute in the ShipStation Plugin API to map Customer Comments in the Order details from Magento 2 store into ShipStation?

    The 2.2.7 ShipStation plugin for Magento should properly import customer and internal notes from Magento to ShipStation’s corresponding fields.

    If you upgrade the plugin but still do not see your order notes import, please open a ticket with our support team so we can troubleshoot with you further.

  17. ShipperHQ Integration

    Our product mix includes an even split between products that ship small parcel and products that ship via an LTL freight carrier. We need to be able to provide live shipping rates within the BigCommerce checkout experience which is most easily done through an application called ShipperHQ. The challenge is that there is not currently an integration between ShipperHQ and Shipstation that would allow us to offer our Shipstation UPS rates to customers within checkout. This shouldn't be that difficult to do via API. Please consider adding this integration.

    I would like Ship Station to be able to pull through Gift Notes from Etsy please. We need to see these as some of our items need messages in.

    ShipStation will now import the “is_gift” flag and the gift message field from Etsy. If a gift message is present on the order, it will appear in the Gift Message field for the order in ShipStation.

  19. We need 3rd Part billing to work with Purolator.

    We started using ShipStation just last month, and we have sent thousands of dollars of shipping costs through as third party billing with Purolator. Purolator is a major customer of ours, and they require us to use one of their own corporate accounts for our shipping. We just found out last week all the billing for those 3rd Party shipments are being charged back to our own Purolator account, and we can't charge that back to Purolator. There are other customers and suppliers who also want us to use their own Purolator accounts. It is very surprising that the only…
