ShipStation’s Feedback and Fresh Ideas Forum is moving!


We have started the process of moving our ideas forum to a new home in the ShipStation Community.

As of August 4th, 2021, this Feedback and Fresh Ideas Forum is no longer accepting new ideas, votes, or comments. However, this forum will remain visible until shortly after the new Ideas board on the ShipStation Community goes live. After that date, this forum will no longer be visible.

If you would like to post an idea after August 4th but before the new Ideas board is live, we have created a temporary discussion board in the community for you to do so. Once our new Ideas board is live, our moderator will move all posts to their permanent home.

ShipStation has used this same forum since we released our very first version back in 2011. In that time, we’ve implemented hundreds of our users’ ideas! But, as our users and our product has evolved, we’ve realized the way we seek and manage our users’ feedback must evolve as well. Starting in September, all feedback and ideas discussions will take place in the Ideas board of the ShipStation Community

If you are not already a member of the ShipStation Community, please join! You can participate in user discussion boards, read exclusive community blog posts, earn rewards through community exclusive events, and much more. To join, go to community.shipstation.com and click the profile icon. You’ll be prompted to log in to your ShipStation account and then redirected back to the community where you can set your unique username and customize your profile (if you wish). Once registered, you can participate in any discussion on the community. 


What will happen to the existing Feedback and Fresh Ideas posts?


Unfortunately, we cannot move all ideas to the new Ideas forum. The posts we are not moving are being set to the  "Archived" status in this forum.


The posts we do move will maintain their statuses, voter count, comments, and link to the original poster. 

Posts we will move to the new Ideas board: 

  • All posts in Started, Planned, and In Consideration Queue statuses.
  • Some posts in the Under Review status or with no status, based on post age, recent activity, vote count, and relevance.
  • Posts that have been set to Completed within the last 12 months.

  1. integrate amazon.NL as a store

    amazon.NL is missing. It is a brand new amazon marketplace and it is not yet available as a store option in ShipStation. I hope it soon will be.

  2. Add U-PIC (UPIC) insurance

    Please add U-PIC insurance (u-pic.com) since it is cheaper than ShipSurance and hassle free to file a claim.

    Hello,

    Thank you for submitting this request/voting and helping us to improve ShipStation! We will review an integration with U-PIC and let you know once we have an update.

    In the meantime, you can always select “Other” as the insurance provider in ShipStation, then add the insurance to the package outside of ShipStation.

  3. HazMat service with my already in place contract from UPS

    I ship smokeless powder which qualifies as Hazmat, a feature I need. Please, as we are Mac based, UPS seems to have no plans for an Apple version of World Ship and Hazmat has to be computer generated.

    @James, thanks for checking in on this one. We’re still interested in this idea and we don’t have a timeline on it. This is something that will need further investigation from our end as well as working with UPS to be able to further integrate Hazardous Material support.

  4. amazon transparency

    Amazon has recently introduced their "Transparency" to better track inventory and to ensure its authenticity. We carry dozens of transparency enabled products which for merchant fulfilled orders require us to scan and upload transparency codes to Amazon that are scanned off the product. Currently this upload process is manual. We'd like for ShipStation to add a feature through the Amazon API that allows a scanned transparency code to be uploaded to the order and transmitted to Amazon when tracking information is transmitted.

  5. Adding different LTL freight carriers to mark as shipped list

    Having the ability to select LTL freight carrier such AAA Cooper, Averitt Express, YRC, Old Dominion to the shipping options... and incorporating a link to these carrier's websites on the email notification the customer gets when the orders are marked as shipped. Currently we have to select "other" as the shipping carrier and creates extra customer service cases when customer can't track their shipments. Customer are used the ease of just clicking a link to track their shipments, instead of having to go to the carrier's website.

  6. Royal Mail Tracking

    Could we get royal mail tracking within shipstation? As far as I am aware there is a RM tracking API which allows pulling this information without going to the RM tracking page. Royal mail also offers delivery tracking for the 24 and 48 service which does not require signature. It would be great to have tracking information for these parcels too or at least the parcel number populated in the tracking field. Currently we have to take this from the label manually.

  8. Filter "Hidden" Line-Item Properties from [Item Options] (ShipStation)

    Line-items properties in Shopify typically represent item options, such as special instructions (e.g., the text for an inscription). These are automatically imported to ShipStation as part of the line-item's [Item Options] field, which can optionally displayed on Packing Slip Templates.

    Sometimes, however, these are used for internal communications between e.g. Shopify apps. To support this, Shopify themes have a built-in convention where line-item properties prefixed with an underscore (e.g., _internalOption) are hidden from the customer:

  9. Sync Etsy Private Notes with Shipstation Internal Notes

    We often need to make notes regarding an Etsy order. It would be nice if the private notes section of the Etsy order was automatically synced with the Internal Notes section in Shipstation.

    Since all communication with the customers is done on Etsy, when a small changes or note is needed we then need to log into shipstation and add it in Internal notes. It would be much quicker if we could simply add once on the page we are already on and let it sync over to SS.

  10. etsy ship by date

    Etsy Ship By date should import into ShipStation.

    Many Etsy users sell home made products that need specific ship by dates as they need to be hand made after the order is placed.

    This Ship By date can change dependent on the amount of products a user orders and is ever changing. With it not being static, It would be greatly beneficial to import the Ship By from your Etsy connection.

    Can SS enable having more than one FBA account linked to a SS account? We ship products for multiple companies, each with their own FBA account, but can only link a single FBA account to our SS account.

  13. API - Make Custom Package types available via API

    Allow custom package types, setup in SHIPPING > PACKAGES > Your Packaging, to be passed via the API. We import shipment data via API to Tableau reporting server. Having NULL values under package type makes it tough to report on volume for specific package types.

  14. Add customs broker capability

    We sometimes have customers in Canada (when shipping through Fedex) who have their own brokers for customs clearance. It would be nice if we could add this information to their shipping information.

  16. Adding Chitchats to your list of carriers please

    ChitChats is a new shipping platform available in Canada. It allows us to ship products around the world for a fraction of the price of normal carriers. They are expanding at a rapid rate and I only foresee us using them more in the future. We want to be able to track our ChitChat shipments via ShipStation so we can keep customers updated on their order tracking. Please consider adding them to your carriers!

  17. Integrate with Allin1Ship

    I have been using Allin1Ship for some time now and I love their service, however, they do not have a direct integration with Shipstation, this, therefore, doesn't allow me to have access to pricing or any additional benefits an integration would provide.

    They told me they have direct integrations with other platforms and can go to them but I love ShipStation and don't want to leave.

    Now, they are trying to integrate with Shipstation for all of their customers but ShipStation has to approve them first.

    As a customer of both, I would really like to see this partnership happen…

  18. Support Square POS transactions

    We have a ShipStation account and use Shopify for eCommerce and we also have a retail location using Square POS. We often get customers that want to buy in store and have product shipped. Is there a way to integrate Square POS with ShipStation? All I've seen is that ShipStation only integrates with Square web sales and we don't use their web platform.

    Deliverr is the Walmart's 2Day shipping program. In order to be competitive with Amazon they are now offering the same shipping times.

    Having this integrated with Shipstation would help make for a smooth transition to faster shipping option for Walmart.

    ShipStation has started work for certain selling channels (currently Shopify, Magento, and BigCommerce, with more to come) that allows the carts to display rates pulled from shipstation during the customer checkout process.
