I think most people want to know they have orders and if possible how many orders they will have to prepare for shipment. The notification should be a summary of the number of orders and have the option to be scheduled by the company as seen fit.

Since the database has the fields already, the company could be given the control of building the information they need from the summarized order notification as they see it fit, when to receive the notification (for example, receive notifications at 7:00 am and 5:00 pm or just one at 2:00 pm that could state how many orders have been received in each store.
