Add a duplicate order feature
Currently during an exchange, we reship the original order and then have to change the packing slip by hand writing the changes. While we could create manual orders for each of these, right now customer information does not automatically fill in all of the time when creating an order. When this happens we can go to the customers tab and then search for the customer and then create an order from there, but this seems like an extra step. It would be convenience to have a "duplicate order" button that would create a new order to the same recipient directly from the orders or shipments tab.

Hi, everyone! Thanks for showing your support here! Can you tell us more about what you would use this feature for?
From the previous comments it looks like some users are looking to use this for exchanges or more accurate accounting. Do you all agree?
What do you think about our re-ship feature? Every time you re-ship an order, we will show you all the tracking numbers related to that order and its status. You’re able to change the order details for each label you re-ship.
More info on re-ship (not to be confused with re-print): https://help.shipstation.com/hc/en-us/articles/206638607
Please let us hear your comments in the forum and add your ideas with other users so we can get the full picture!

Would be a nice feature to have and have separate order numbers.
Currently, we use the "Split Order" feature and then simply put 0 in where it asks you how many from the Product Quantity to split. We sell Multi-Packs so 1 SKU contains 12 pieces.
When I put 0, it splits the order, adds a suffix to the order number and effectively gives me a copy of the order, just without any products in the order. It works perfectly for me because it's primarily used when a customer is missing 1 or 2 of an item. I then just add the product and add the QTY that the customer is missing.
Hope this helps.

@Stephen Polizzi - That is already possible. You need to be in "Orders" not "Shipments," search the order number, and then click it, and click Restore.
This will put the order back in Awaiting Shipping.
This works on orders canceled, shipped, etc

Found this looking for the same functionality. Item is lost, stolen, or damaged, and I want to run it through our entire shipping/order management process again. Need a way to get this moved to awaiting shipment as if the customer placed the same order again.

There needs to be a "create order from this shipment" button. This for manual orders and repeat shipments to customers. If all you get is orders pulled in from a store then you don't need this. But if you're manually shipping a repeat customer this is an obviously lacking option, and it would be so easy to add.

We need a duplicate as it puts the order in the Awaiting shipment queue, which is a must. So when a customer gets a defective item, we have to manually copy paste the order to a new order. We need the function to COPY ORDER (don't use duplicate wording, as you use that elsewhere and it will confuse).
COPY to NEW ORDER button is a must, as it will allow us to quickly create a duplicate order, put it in our shipstation queue as awaiting fulfilment (this is automatic) so we know what to work on via shipstation, and not by. manually printing labels (false info to customer that it has shipped)

Adding my vote that we need a duplicate ship feature to easily reship.

Has a decision been made on this yet by the Shipstation team? It has been "under review" for 5 years now.

I need this. Some orders get lost and I need to reship. If there are a lot of line items, this is a PITA. On the old layout, i could do this. I just hit print, it said "Whoops! This already printed, are you sure you want to print it again" and then i got a new tracking number and a label with all of the same information. Tempted to toggle back and forth for this feature.

Is this here yet? this would be REALLY obviously helpful for those of us making the same shipment every month -- If the "Import Orders" function would actually save the settings (instead of forgetting them every time) that would be one step closer - as it is I'm doing the 'field mapping' for the CSV on all however many 10 fields or so EVERY TIME. This is the thing that makes me dread the shipping process. Same old addresses, same old weights, same old same old everything.... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Can't I just press a button and get a copy? or is there something i'm missing somewhere to make this easier? - The 'Saved Mappings' on import orders DO NOT save on my system - but of course I'd rather just have the "Repeat/copy" Order function would make life that much easier....

If Shipstation doesn't have Duplicate Order feature, switch to Shipping Easy, they do

In ShipStation v3, when you use the "Create another shipment", ShipStation duplicate the original order WITHOUT duplicating the Order/shipment items and show "This shipment has no items". The problems is unproductive, because our average order have 50-100 lines of items and our API need items/qty to manage the multiple-shipment order. So because ShipStation team take the duplication order approach in v3, we think is a good reason to increase the duplication capability to Order/shipment items. If this function was not corrected, we have no choice to reevaluate ou business position and close our subscription with ShipSatation in the future.

I used to use ShipRush's duplicate order button A LOT and it was my favorite feature. When my company switched to Ship Station without this feature it is pretty disappointing. I will now have to create a manual order every time which is time consuming and leaves room for error. I would use it for: packages lost in the mail, when things were sent wrong, when labels were lost or ripped off the printer, when I had to change an address, shipping warranty or free promotional items. I hope shipstation is able to make a change soon!

I periodically send a case of something to Amazon FBA, for example. Each product always by the same number, in the same size box, and usually to the same FBA warehouse. For now, I open up a duplicate tab to open up a past order, and copy over information to a new manual order, because its the same information but new shipment, new day, same size but physically new box. a repeat shipment. repeat. not a re-ship to fix something. just a repeat of the same thing. a repeated shipment or order could then be manually altered as needed to fit the new shipment or order. I say again, "repeat".

I also think it's a bit ridiculous that this isn't a feature already, especially after so many votes.

This is ok for printing new labels but it does not take inventory into consideration. It does not allow you to add or delete lines and keep a history of activity. Not a solution for me.

I've got to send out sample packs to all my reps but have to manually re-create each order (with 6 of the same items). If I had a "copy order button" it'd save me a ton of time.

Your suggested workaround system doesn't work for me at all. I have to actually re-enter a new order if I want my production team to make it and ship it for me. Otherwise they won't know I need the new order. I can't just tell them to remember what I need done then re-print the shipping label at the end. How hard is it to add a "duplicate order" button? You have buttons for split order and other things I've never used. I can't even believe this is under debate. It is clearly an issue for many of your customers.
