Make it possible to print labels and packing slips/items on Doc Tab
Usually, you can purchase thermal labels with a doc tab addition on top of the typical 4x6" label. Well, on other programs like ShipRush, we should be able to print item names/packing slip information on the doc tab. This is really really useful!

Hi, everyone! We read all of your feedback daily and noticed that this idea hasn’t seen any activity since we last checked in. Can you give us more information about how Doc Tabs would help your shipping workflow?
Please comment here in the forum so other users can add their input as well.

So, are you guys merging new requests to one old request from 2013 and make them obsolete? A very simple update maybe is going to save millions of page waste. Is this how you treat a problem?

Hello,
When I asked for basic custom label configuration, I received a very unintelligent response from the support associate. Currently, I have to print 2 labels to make my warehouse people understand which product they have to ship. Reference fields in the shipping label too small and not quite visible. Your system is currently capable of doing this simple change by adding a marketplace logo inside the shipping label. This can be done in 4x6 label and also, I use a 4x8 label - carrier-specific label size is 4x6. I want to add a very simple note at the bottom of the label where 2-inch extra space exists. It is for making my operation easier by adding SKU and QTY.
I have to print 2 labels right now to make people in the warehouse understand which product they supposed to ship. This is bad for the environment and a waste of resources. I hope you can solve this problem. We are about to change to a different software because of this problem.Thank you.

I mean, with 10 years worth of request for this specific thing, you would figure there would be SOME kind of progress... Not simply ignoring the request when it comes up every couple of months.

With Shipping Software such as Stamps, or FedEx, Tracking Numbers are printed atop on a 3/4" Tab. It seems this request has been ignored heavily since the first request in.... 2012. I Propose having printing options added that print this simple bit of information at the top doc tab, along with package weight, total ship cost etc.

Please make shipstation able to print on Docu Tab. It's very useful to be able to print the tracking# on the Docu Tab Labels.
We used to print two labels, one attach to the package and one for our record, but Fed Ex realized we used double the amount of labels. They said Docu Tab is what we need to print. Then we found out shipstation cannot print to docu tab labels.
Please make it happen...

This would be a lifesaver! I use shipstation as the link between my 3PL and Shopify. I sell through several 3rd party platforms (Maisonette, Faire, RangeMe, and more), and I need to attach docs to my orders so that my 3PL can print and include them in the orders. Right now I have a very clunky work around. This is enough for me to leave shipstation for a competitor even though everything else is perfect.

These labels by UPS offer the ability to print the label summary on the 2" bottom section. Can we have this label available to print this info. we use it to stick to our pick tickets as proof of shipment instead of having to write it out.

The 'Reference' number (order number) on the regular shipping labels from FedEx are super tiny. So hard to read. Our local FedEx rep suggested we use a dock label. The peel off part would most likely show a larger order number. Help!

UPS Worldship actually saves their doc label configuration as an XML file in the Worldship folder (or network share if you have it set up in a host/client config). This XML file contains all the field names and coordinates for the information to print on the doc label. It seems like it would not be much work to build something to read this file and set up the settings in ShipStation to print the same label.
Seeing as ShipStation already integrates with stamps.com (which already provides printing for the 8 x 4.25 label format with a doc label) that should be able to be taken care of as well?
It seems like a huge oversight that ShipStation does not support this feature. -

For our uses, doc tabs would be super helpful as a receipt for our internal customers. When the Finance dept wants me to overnight a check to a vendor, it'd be nice to be able to provide them with a doc tab that I can separate from the label (like a 4x8" label with a 2" perforated doc tab) with all the relevant info (date shipped, dimensions/weight, tracking #, shipping service, etc.).
It would be easier and less wasteful than printing a second label. Plus it would be compatible with WorldShip. Please consider. -

please add this feature! we batch-print our labels to save time and we need a packing list alongside every order. printing a separate packing list is overkill and would slow us down, but it's critical to have a short summary of the package items alongside the shipping label. for us, doc tabs with packing lists reduce error rates and speed up our shipping flow.
it looks like we will either hire a developer to splice apart shipstation pdf batches and add the doc tabs programmatically, or we'll switch to shiprush.

Currently we only have these labels. Therefore your direct print options are useless for us.
We use for internal filling purposes typically it has a tracking number.
At the very minimum add one with a blank 2" at the buttom so we can use that then you can and should make more custom field placement options.

This is very useful feature and helps control accounting issues... Worldship and fedex provide top or bottom doc tab...
We need to be able configure this ourselves or take standard format that fedex & ups provides.

These are by far the most useful types of labels for us. Currently, SS is only able to print a packing slip on a second 4x6" label. We are hoping to have the option to use the 4x6 type with an additional 2x6 receipt portion that can be removed separately.

We are running a trial of ShipStation now, and this may make or break our decision to sign up. Doc labels are indispensable to our work flow, as they contain information that informs every department along the way to shipping, such as which product(s) should be in the shipping box, which box size to use, and whether or not to pack our shipment on ice (our products are perishable). We would love if ShipStation could add this feature.

hope we can have the option to print 4x8 format , because now the sku number on the label is to small , we ship wrong item quite often

I strongly support this feature which will be very useful to have the packing slip info on same label so we place the shipping label on box and the small packing slip inside.
It is also very convenient to prevent confusion which shipping label goes to which order, since it has all order info on same label.
Thank you

Doc tags are essential in keeping a physical copy with paperwork. We tend to take doc tags which have tracking number, weight, and promised shiprate and attach that to a copy of the invoice. We hold onto that because FedEx/UPS destroys tracking data after 18 months. We've had need to lookup packages that were 2+ years old.
