USPS Return Shipping Label without paying postage up front
The ability to take advantage of USPS Merchandise Return Service and have an option to print a return label with every shipment or selected shipments and not have to pay for the postage unless the customer uses it. I believe this is available through API only and there may be a form you have to submit to USPS: https://www.usps.com/business/merchandise-return-service.htm
Previously our Endicia integration provided the ability to print pay-on-use USPS return labels if your Endicia account was enabled for this feature.
We are currently exploring the pay-on-use option for other USPS postage providers. We will update this post with more information when available.
Some of these requests are out of Need to grow our E-Commerce business and we (Subscription Holders) are sharing valuable feedback, that will GREATLY improve the customer service experience, and we need your help to get us there and you get to Monetize or improve this long over due feature.

This needs to be address sooner then later with the massive increase of online orders and returns generated Every 20 or so days we have to manually look and void those USPS tags that have not tracked. What a huge waste of money and time. We need the system set up that all USPS Return tags are not charged to our account until scanned by Post office just like FEDEX and UPS.

It is insane that Shipstation cannot allow me to create a return without paying for a label. Sure, I can make a fake label and put a bunch of junk data into my system, but who wants to do that? This seems like a fairly basic thing. Customer pays their own shipping and a product shows up...how do I return it? With Shipstation I must pay for an extra label that never gets shipped. Really? THAT is your solution? Why not simply allow a return without creating a label?
In fact stamps.com allowed this, when can it be integrated:
Since Endicia was bought from Stamos.com it should as least be possible to have this feature rolled out for all stamps.com customers!?
Not having the ability to pay on use is literally money thrown out the window to USPS. This needs to be escalated to a higher priority and put on your roadmap. Paying for postage that no one uses is a terrible waste of funds. As USPS continues to increase their rates, the more this is costing us as well.

Is there any update in terms of development timing and release of this feature. Its critical to my business, and impedes our ability to choose Shipstation as a vendor

Hello, when this will be implemented ? I see this post is from Jan 2015. We have Jan 2019 now and the status remains as started. Please implement this ASAP. We need to have the ability to automatically email shipping labels. My business model sells programming services. The customer has to ship the item to me 1st and I ship it back after programming. I need to have an automatic emailing of shipping label at the time of purchase. Doing it manually is an unnecessary waste of time.

Could you please incorporate pay on use usps return labels into shipstation? Endicia.com which is owned by stamps.com just like Shipstation has this service
USPS is changing their return labels and we just got our account completed and without any charges or fees. How can we incorporate the API to do a return label on demand so that we only get charged when they use the label.
When will pay on use return labels be activated for USPS? I've been told my Endicia that their pay on use product for USPS does NOT work on ShipStation.
Thanks for checking in, we’re still interested in this idea. It isn’t on our immediate roadmap but it’s one we’d like to keep open for now.

at least capability to automatically void the unused labels after certain days.
How about offering this through FedEx?

If you can't go around pre-paid postage, how about creating a feature to automatically void a label if tracking isn't updated within X weeks time? You can DEFINATELY do that with USPS! If you can manually void it, why not have ship station automatically void it within X weeks if tracking isn't updated?
Maybe even do this for UPS/Fedex?
This feature request was created 4.5 years ago, and is one of the top votes feature requests and yes it has not been updated by a Shipstation Admin in over 2.5 years. Clearly this is a feature a large portion of your clients need for their business so lets get it done.
Shipstation users - Lets get this voted to #1 to get the team working on this as it is already the 10 most requested,.

Need this feature!
I would happily open a USPS account and pre-ill it if necessary if a customer uses one of our pre-printed return labels.
Hi there! I am in Canada and use Canada Post for shipping. Similar problem, I can't print return labels to add to the shipment.
We sell recyclable water filters, and with each delivery we send a sticking return label so the customer can return this to us for recycling (great for the environment, clients and business!).
We moved to Shipstation and this feature is not available. Everything else is amazing, but we do need this feature to keep on growing!

Currently we only have the automation option to create FedEx and UPS return labels with Automation Rules. We'd like to have the same functionality extended to USPS.
