Scan and Verify Product UPC to make sure to Ship right product and Quantity
Ability to Scan and Verify the UPC code of the product get shipped for the individual order. So, this will eliminate the WRONG item being shipped and Wrong Quantity being shipped. Also "Ship Order" button activates only when the right product(s) is scanned and right quantity is scanned for the order.Products that does not come with UPC may be shipped by manually entering item SKU in the barcode scan field.
The first phase of our Scan to Verify feature is complete and includes the ability to scan either SKU or UPC barcodes.
We’ll continue to improve our Scan functionality in the near future!

Since this is the most voted for request (by almost twice as much as #2 on the list) I'd say that this discussion is still "active" I'm not sure what else we can say to get the developer's attention. This most recent comment by shipstation seems to be a general reply that I've seen in many other threads. I wonder if they even read this, or better yet, if we could get an actual answer about this particular topic. It's been over 5 years people!!!

Hey guys, I see that the status went from planned, to under review. Also, the first time it was planned was back in 2013. Is this something that is do-able? or should we look elsewhere. Thank you.

Hi Shipstation Team,
The fact that this feature is not there is forcing us using another software that integrates with Shipstation, for inventory management of the channels and having this scanning feature to avoid the packing mistakes.
Will be great to have it with Shipstation.
This would be an incredibly useful feature for us! We have slow times in the winter and our full time staff will ship, but in the summer we hire more help and this would be an invaluable feature when it comes to newer staff that aren't as familiar with the product.

WE have been using GroovePacker.com for this feature in the mean time.

This would be an extremely helpful feature to have within ShipStation. It is unbelievable that this incredibly desired feature (as shown by it being #1 by over 200 votes) was proposed over a year ago and is apparently not even an on-deck feature yet. We are really disappointed in this lack of response to the community.

Yea I hope this can be a thing, we use a shipping software currently that does it and it drastically reduces shipping errors. We want to fully change to shipstation and this feature would allow it.

Even if you make this feature an up-sale, I would still purchase it.
When you say "low positive impact" you aren't thinking about the customer that ordered the item, waited 3 to 5 days to receive it and then realizing that the item they received was not what they ordered.
Maybe its just our business but customer experience has the highest impact on company decisions.
A shipping software should definitely provide away to verify contents in the shipment.

Is this idea being seriously considered or maybe?
Best way to fix this:
1. When edit product details you can add/upload image (UPC barcode)
2. In packing slip editor add feature [UPC Barcode]
Then just like packing slip displays relevant order info and SKU, it will display barcode on footer
YES GREAT FEATURE, its absolutely crucial to have this future for a fulfillment company. I would even pay extra for this monthly.....
This is forcing us to move to a new system! would LOVE this feature because I like shipstation so much otherwise

This is the only reason we stopped using Shipstation. We had to have this feature. I check back periodically to see if it is around yet because we liked the program so much otherwise.

I really need this
Shipstation... Please give us an update!
SKU verification would be great.
However, support for multiple (and custom) id types would be very helpful. I am working on an extension to our inventory system that will require unique codes we are calling "License Plate Numbers" for each item. These will need to be scanned into and linked to orders at packing time.
This feature would save quite a bit of money by virtually eliminating fulfilment errors. Would also speed up packing orders. It's a lot quicker to scan a barcode on a product to verify it is the correct one. Please include this as part of your offering.
Simple example of the workflow:
1. Select order (Scan packing slip or otherwise)
2. Scan the barcode of the product, if the correct product has been scanned, the packer gets confirmation. This continues until all products + quantities are matched in the order. If not, the order rejects the product.
