Scan and Verify Product UPC to make sure to Ship right product and Quantity
Ability to Scan and Verify the UPC code of the product get shipped for the individual order. So, this will eliminate the WRONG item being shipped and Wrong Quantity being shipped. Also "Ship Order" button activates only when the right product(s) is scanned and right quantity is scanned for the order.Products that does not come with UPC may be shipped by manually entering item SKU in the barcode scan field.
The first phase of our Scan to Verify feature is complete and includes the ability to scan either SKU or UPC barcodes.
We’ll continue to improve our Scan functionality in the near future!

One of the main reason we want to switch to V3 is the Bar-code scanner. However, the current workflow for the scanner is a major issue. We ship one item at a time from the order page. The issue with V3 is that in order to utilize the scanner, we need to go to a different tab every time "Scan tab" and enter the order number. That creates too many steps and reduce efficiency. I was expecting to have the scan feature on the order page with a verify button on each order when selected that triggers the scanner process. Or scanning the barcode would be the trigger to the scan operation. The current workflow would not work for us

Will this feature also work with EAN (European Article Number) which is very similar to UPC?
We are in the makeup business and a lot of our European brands use EAN.

I'm amazed that this feature is not in Shipstation. Maybe call it Partial Shipstation? Let's hope the new feature rolls out the same time that UPS does their yearly rate increase in 2020. For us Shipstation has worked very well. We look forward to the Scan and Verify.

Just wondering if you made any progress on this feature yet.

I found a zero cost work around. Took me a few hrs but its working now. I am not sure why they havent posted a solution yet.. I hope they post this instead of trying to add it as a paid feature which will likely be a big slap on the face :)
1 -Go to shipstation templates, then packing slips, then the "order items" section.
2- At the bottom of the order items html section simply paste:
<td colspan="5" align="center"><barcode size="small">[Product Sku]</barcode></td>
3- Now each packing slip product will have a barcode presented on the packing slip.
4- Install a barcode match tool on your iphone. I got "CodeMatch" from the app store.
5- Scan the barcode from your packing slip and then the one on your product.
You can now scan and verify if the items you are packing are correct now.
You can add barcodes on your items using a tool like ZebraDesigner. Meanwhile you would also have to enable SKUs or SKU import on your items through shipstation.
Chiming in 5 years later (again) .... requesting this feature. Just to be able to scan out an item & make sure it is correct. We've tried integrations & they just all have issues ... takes longer in personal time to import & fix then to just accept the losses by not using a scanner. All the other guys that do "inventory management" charge a minimum of $250-300 a month for a bunch of unnecessary functionality. Happy to pay extra for it all to just work together ... an app extension, basic. Scan in, scan out.

We currently use Jazva, but would like to come back to shipstation. Please add this feature.

We need this so our packers can scan the items into the order and not ship it out if there is an error.
Much needed function. Will add value to the software to have this functionality.

Is this feature still being considered? It is very much needed to have a Scan and Verify Product UPC to make sure to Ship right product and Quantity. Right now we have to use clumsy third party software that is not working very well with our ERP and Shipstation.

When will this be ready?? It's about time.
This feature is seriously needed and I would be willing to pay more for a premium extension.
Currently we're using Groovepacker @ $100/month. This software works pretty well and has saved us this much money on a monthly basis, however there are still occasionally errors and we've notified Groovepacker about the same many months ago with no fix in sight; they informed us of a workaround, but this was short lived. They are aware of the issue since at least March. Due to repeated errors, we're seriously considering an alternative

Can we please get this done, what is the hold up? What are the workarounds? Is it time to leave Shipstation?

From Sep 5, 2013 — "After reviewing your comments and our own ideas and notions about this project, we’re excited to say that we’re planning to build this feature. We’d still love to hear your feedback on what you need for this feature, so keep the comments coming!"
Is this no longer being planned?
Please add this! We are looking at other solutions as this is a needed function.
As everyone has stated over the past six years, this is the number one concern for Shipstation users. We will gladly pay more for this to offset development. Shipstation is great in so many ways and has vastly improved our efficiency.. let's make it better.

Can you tell us what the issue is with getting this implemented? 712 Votes and counting as of this post.
Our workflow would be:
1. Scan the Barcode on the packing slip
2. Scan the UPC of each product that was pulled.
3. If correct; print the shipping label.
4. If incorrect; pull correct product, scan it's UPC code, then print the label.
Hi, we are looking for a way to ensure that customers orders are accurately picked prior to shipment. An ideal scenario would be that Shipstation will not print a label until each item has been scanned as going into package. Each order has a list of numerous items, I need a way to scan each item to ensure the order is packed correctly, before a shipping label is generated.
Existing software is Shipstation, using "scan to print" feature, which uses barcode on Packing Slip to generate label
Hardware scanner is Wasp Technologies WCS3900 Barcode Scanner

This is exactly what I need. I actually am thinking about switching to another app because you guys do not have this feature.

This functionality should be #1 on the development list. It's the most critical feature missing from ShipStation.
