Have different printers for international vs. domestic labels
Please enable a feature that you can choose what printer will print labels. To be more specific: we want to print International Priority and express with the regular printer and the rest of the labels in the 4x6 printer.
The product team will review your request and you’ll hear from us once we have made a decision.

So i have Labelwriter 4XL set up to print 4x6 labels. Shipstation printing setup does NOT separate out handling the international USPS 4 sheet CP72 form from domestic single label form.
Now that i switched to Labelwriter 4XL for domestic, when i have an international shipment i have to download PDF, then can print to the laserwriter with changed orientation, changed paper size (default is 4x6 which is needed to make Labelwriter 4XL work automatically), and rescaled to 100%.
We used to use Endicia before Shipstation. Endicia has individual settings for regular domestic labels, and international CP72 and CN22 forms.
Please make your printing setup more knowledgable about the different USPS forms printed and allow a separate assignment to a printer, with settings for paper size. This is important, the paper size. Before we figured out we had to download a PDF and make it work that way, when trying to print the 4 page forms of the CP72 using Shipostation connect printing, it scaled them weirdly and used the whole page of 8.5x11 on the laserwriter, and lost some info.
And no, i don't want to waste expensive label paper and print the USPS CP72 on four 4x6 labels. I want to print on 8.5x11 paper and use the PO's free plastic pouches.

Please!!! I need this badly

We need this because priority international labels print in 4 pages; customs declaration, dispatch note, sender copy, and i forgot the other one. Dont need to print these in labels because we put them inside a plastic bag/envelope that sticks to the box. This idea would save us hundreds of labels a month or be more convenient than having to go to settings and change the printer each time back and forth or having to change the tray or paper stack manually.
Yes, I agree with "rstreiff"'s idea!
Come on ShipStation, please allow mapping of page sizes! How is this order variable any different then variables like requested service, insurance, package size or weight, etc.?
It would be so helpful to be able to set a mapping for print sizes! Something like: If it is a domestic UPS shipment, use 4x6 page size; if it is an international UPS shipment, use 8.5x11 page size.
It is frustrating to constantly be switching between sizes when an order comes in that requires a page setting that's different than the previous one
Please fix this!

Why hasn't this been implemented??

Any word on this? This is a no-brainer. USPS Priority Int'l and Express labels are meant to be sized as regular half-sheets of paper and are too small when printed on 4x6 labels. How has this not been done yet?

I find it very hard to believe ShipStation has not implemented the feature to set defaults to different printers or Domestic and International shipments. Sure I can prompt for it to ask which printer I want to use before printing a label, but that pretty much makes the ShipConnect feature obsolete. All other competitors makes this feature easy.

We need a feature in ShipStation to print shipping labels on different printers with different label sizes, depending on the package shipping method and/or address type.
For example, all domestic orders print on the regular 4x6 thermal labels, but International orders print on regular letter paper in our laser printer. The 4x6 labels are quite small to place in the USPS customs form envelopes, plus they're hard to read. We tried printing them on a letter sheet of paper but they are still the 4x6 size rather than half-page size.
We just signed up with ShipStation and are quite surprised it didn't have this functionality!

I would like to have the ability to select a printer based on the carrier. Let's say I'm shipping Fedex, I want to use the printer fedex gave me (Printer A). If I'm shipping USPS, I want the label to automatically print on USPS Printer (PRINTER B). This would save a lot of time!
The ability to map a shipping label’s size based on the service which is requested.
For example, if an order is shipping USPS Priority Mail the label prints at 4” x 6”.
If the order is shipping as USPS Priority Mail International, the label prints at 8.5” x 11”.
If an order comes in with either requested service, then when "Create Label' is pressed, it auto generates it in the preferred size.

I agree with this one. So far, I've let the customs forms print on 4x6 labels and I'm just hoping they go through OK that way.
We ship International orders every day. Reconfiguring the printer settings multiple times every day is not a reasonable workaround. This is so inconvenient it is forcing us to consider other shipping packages.
Endicia's Dazzle can support multiple printer selection. ShipStation already supports printer selection for things like a scan form. It really should support printer selection for customs forms.
Right now if I want to print customs forms for USPS priority mail I am forced to go into settings and to select 8.5x11 two per page. When I want to return to domestic printing I need to go back into settings and change it back to 4x6 paper. I would like a separate setting for which printer to send customs documents for USPS.

Is it possible to have a default printer set for a specific user account? We have two shipping stations setup, and they each have their own label printer. Both label printers are showing up in ShipStation through Google Cloud Print, but if a user logs out and then logs in again, the default printer appears to be changing. Is there a way we can assign a printer to a specific user account so that they always use the same one?
Same issue. We would like to see default printer settings according to what type of document is being printed. Shipping labels should default to zebra printer while packing lists and other full size documents default to 8.5x11 printer. We may occasionally need to override the defaults but it would be far better than manually changing printers for every transaction.
I have the same issue
We have been printing international labels on our 4x6 printer without any issues....then we got a call from usps saying that our barcodes are unreadable with their scans
please add this feature
While we agree the features are closely related, they're not the same thing, unfortunately. The over-arching request is, of course, "More print options" but there are so many different types of "print options" that it's near impossible to have a request like that and ever call it done.
That being said, printing with two printers and allowing different print configurations/printers per user are technically two different things. In addition, the print configurations could technically mean that one person prints only labels 4x6, and another prints 4x6 packing slips and labels. As such, the requests will remain separate, even though we do understand the two are related.
these votes should be combined:
This would be great to have different label sizes for different users or just the option to choose different preset formats when you click the print button for any user.
