Disable Shopify note_attributes
I would prefer that Shopify provide us the ability to choose to enable or disable the mapping of Shopify’s note_attributes field to Customer Notes. This field usually contains custom order data as json markeup based on Shopify's documentation. This field data is not always desired to be brought over for shipping purposes as it mask real buyers’ notes on the orders especially in the list view. Due to the format of the data, it’s not really friendly anyway.
This is really a bigger issue that I have noted here at the posting below. The note_ attributes field mapping is under-managed and requires more configuration settings to better import data from Shopify. A full solution to choose to map to custom fields, suppress or merge to notes would be more desired.

We have also seen many cases where the "Notes from Buyer" field shows all the note_attributes that custom Shopify apps add, making it very hard to read and make sense of.
A solution to filter / map these is very much needed.

I agree that it seems like a bug fix rather than a feature request. My shippers are beginning to ignore the actual notes left by customers because so often this Notes section is filled with stuff they don't understand and don't need to see.
Also, we print the note from the customer directly onto their packing slip so that it can be addressed by shippers, and having all this data print on the packing slip looks strange and unnecessary.
This data from note_attributes should go somewhere else. I'd prefer it NOT go to the Internal Note, because we use those internal notes for other important information that will then start to be overwritten or ignored because of the irrelevant data.

Indeed, this is something that really needs to be fixed. A better location for the notes_attributes would be the Shipstation Internal Notes field but it should be configurable.

We really need this.
We really need this fixed too. We brought it up to the support team and were told that the system is designed to display all notes, and my the notes my shopify apps add to some orders are overriding the customer notes field. We should be allowed to map these fields or shipstation should designate the customer notes from other app comments. This seems like a bug fix and not a feature request. Shipstation, you should do better and actually address this issue like it should be. Anything that overrides the customer notes value in your integration should be addressed since that field should only be for that item and nothing else.
