  1. Reference/PO Number on FedEx Labels - Pull Order # from Shopify

On FedEx labels there is a place for a PO and Reference number. When we manually fulfill orders in FedEx we put the Shopify order number as the reference number. This way when FedEx calls about clearance issues, we can easily find the order by Ref. # (printed on the label also).

ShipStation already provides this ability with the Label Messages feature.

The Label Message #1 corresponds to the FedEx Reference field. To print the order # on a FedEx label Reference field, you must add the [Order #] field replacement into Label Message #1.

To do this, go to Settings > Printing > Printing Setup and click Document Options for your labels. Set Label Message #1 to [Order #] and save your changes.

For more details on both FedEx labels and how to use ShipStation label messages, review both the FedEx Labels & Messages section of our FedEx article: https://help.shipstation.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025856072-FedEx#UUID-50906be8-b51a-5fb5-897a-c5eaa12042f7

  2. Status updates from Shipstation relating to glitches on the site, to prevent colossal waste of time trying to solve unsolvable problems.

As a small e-commerce company we do not have immediate access to customer support so spend a ridiculous amount of time reading and watching tutorials to try to fix any problems we may encounter. This has occurred with the inability to import orders recently. After trying and reading everything under the sun and not being able to 'fix' it, and, after trying all the suggested options we eventually discovered it was a site wide issue. We then discovered that we suddenly could not import weights. Thinking this was because of something we did, or didn't do we spend even more…

  4. Add telephone to label

We ship live animals and USPS requires that we include the customer's telephone number on the shipping label. If Shipstation would add 'Telephone' to the label message options it would help us tremendously. If our queen bees are put in a mailbox they die within minutes. PLEASE add this feature - I am adding a file showing the list where we could opt to have the telephone print on the label if Shipstation made this change. THANK YOU!

ShipStation does provide the option of adding a phone number to the label with ShipStation’s label messages feature (you can learn about that feature on our Label & Document Print Settings article: https://help.shipstation.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025869852-Label-Document-Print-Settings#UUID-e375dfb6-0cdf-5037-d673-a15ddeaff2cf)

Recipient phone number isn’t an option in the Label Message field replacement drop-down menu. However, this list is just the list of most commonly used field replacements. You can actually use almost any other available field replacement in the Label Message field to pull data from the order. The field replacement for the recipient phone number is just [Recipient Phone] – type it into the field exactly like that, including the opening and closing square brackets, and save your changes.

The recipient phone number will then print on all your labels as long as the carrier support that label message and the order includes the recipient phone number. This is a global setting, so this will…

  5. New Filter for Importing Orders - Will help with dropshipping as well

Please create a way to 'Only Import' items that meet a criteria. There is currently only a 'do not import' function. This will help with specifying certain skus to filter to a certain store.

    Hello there

At this time, limiting imports to import to only meet certain criteria exists!

If you head to Settings > Automation > Automation Rules, you can create criteria for what is called a “do nor import” rule, and limit the imports based on things like source, products, country, and so much more!

  6. weight

Include option for packing slip to include weight for each item in the list, as we package items by weight.

  8. Integrate Hermes Next Day Delivery to Carrier Services.

Current the only option is for the 3-5 day services and given that we send a majority of our stuff via next day delivery it doesnt work for us. Would be great if you could add all the services offered by hermes!

    Thanks

  9. Logic Rules for Return Eligibility

Our return policy is: return for full refund within 14-days, but no bathing suits, bike shorts or products purchased at 30% off or more. The returns program should have logic rules to accept or deny these requests automatically.

Thank you for your feedback. There are currently ways to accomplish all of these things in ShipStation.

To set the limit on the number of days for a return, go to Settings > Selling Channels > Store setup. Click edit for the store and go to the Returns tab. Set your Return Exception to 14 days and save.

To prevent returns for certain products, simply make sure the “Product is returnable” option is UNchecked in the product details. Or to put it another way, only check this option for products that you do want to allow returns for.

  10. A way to isolate skipped marketplace notifications in bulk.

A way to isolate skipped marketplace notifications in bulk. Currently, the only feature is to isolate by warnings however an order could have a successful customer notification and a skipped marketplace notification... In this situation there is no way to find them. Even the ability to sort by successful or skipped would work. Make it happen ShipStation, without this I CANT GET SHIP DONE!!!

    Thank you for your feedback!

In our Shipments page, you can sort your grid by the Marketplace Notifications column so you can see which shipments had successful notifications, which notifications failed, and which were not sent at all.

You can also use the Marketplace Notifications filter (go to Other > Marketplace Notifications) and tell the filter which status you want to view (Notified, Not Notified, Failed).

  11. NetSuite

Currently, our Marketplace orders are managed by ChannelAdvisor and we ship/fulfill via ShipStation connection. Like other companies in your Feedback/Ideas section, our system of record is NetSuite and we have other order to ship within NetSuite.

Please please provide a seamless integration to NetSuite so we can cover all of our shipping needs!!!

  12. Option to turn off the Address AutoCorrect on import

I would like the option to turn off the Address AutoCorrect when an address is imported from a marketplace. Shipstation has repeatedly changed the customer provided address, even the postal code, to an incorrect address.

ShipStation provides the option to disable automatic address correction as a store setting.

Just go to Settings > Selling Channels > Store Setup and click Edit next to the store you wish to disable.

Uncheck the option to “Automatically standardize and correct all US addresses when verified?” (you can do this for non-US addresses as well). Then save your changes.

You’ll need to do this for all stores you wish to disable this for.

ShipStation will still validate addresses even when this setting is off. For more details, review the Automatic Address Correction section in this help article: https://help.shipstation.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025869092-Address-Validation#UUID-0cbecf41-31e1-fea0-60cb-32e81175df67

  13. UPC Code on Packing Slips

Is there any way to add the UPC code below the product name on Packing slips? We use the UPC number to make sure that we are picking the right product since we have over 1500 products and some are very similar and it is easy to make mistakes. Our picking staff manually picks each order using the Packing Slips and we really need the barcode in order to reduce the number of errors. Also, can you add a space for TOTAL number of products which will also reduce errors when shipping. Hoping that this would be easy to add…

You can do this now, actually! There is not a field for postal code in advanced search. What you would do is go to the advanced search to select the Shipped status you want to search in, then select a filter for postal code ( go to Other > Postal Code) to filter by the zip code you want to search for. Set the filter qualifier to “contains” and then enter the zip you want to search for.

This will show only shipped orders that also include the zip code you entered.

  15. If "Gift Message" box is checked, print out Gift Receipt

If "Gift Message" box is checked, print out Gift Receipt which does not include pricing information on the packing slip.

    Thanks for your feedback!

If you are on a silver plan or higher, you can create a custom packing slip that does not include any pricing field replacements.

You can then create an automation rule that states if “Gift Order” “is true” then assign the custom gift packing slip template you created. The automation rule will apply to the order when it imports from the store.

Everything you need to know about creating a custom packing slip is in this help article: https://help.shipstation.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026157931-Packing-Slips

And review this help article if you need to learn how to create automation rules: https://help.shipstation.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026158331-Automation-Rules

  16. Automatically mark labels as printed if done through Shipstation Connect

I just got off the chat line with tech support and it appears there is no way for the software to automatically indicate that a label has been printed (even if done through Shipstation Connect), you have to manually check a box that it has been printed. This has been problematic for my organization as I can tell that a label has been created, but if someone printed but didn't check the box, there is no way to follow up and see if the label was printed and if it is the carrier's fault (lost or never scanned package in)…

  17. Mark as shipped

Can you add the functionality to the "Mark as Shipped" screen to allow a user to apply bulk actions to all orders selected (like Notify Customer, Notify Marketplace, and select a Carrier). This would make manual marking of shipped items much much easier.

    Thank you for your feedback!

We have implemented this feature in ShipStation’s new layout in the Mark as Shipped screen.

When you select multiple orders in your grid and choose Other Actions > Mark as Shipped you can select which orders in bulk to assign a carrier to and set notification preferences.

Please note this is in the Mark as Shipped pop-up, not the Mark as Shipped Bulk screen.

  18. Create Shipment without an order

I would love to be able to use ShipStation to be my only shipping software including make shipments without an order.

Right now I have to make it as a ship quote as a workaround and it's really bad. As an example, look at UPS World Ship, which I use quite frequently.

  20. options for packing slips

I ship a LOT of products that are gifts. Some of my buyers opt for a greeting card, and perhaps half of them write out the greeting and don't "sign" the card. The problem is that when I go to print either the Order Summary, or Packing Slip, the "SHIP TO" is listed, but not the "BUYER NAME/FROM". i would like both to be on the Packing Slip so that the "sent to" person knows who's actually sending their gift, and won't have to guess who's its from by looking at a funky email address.

This option is currently available for packing slips if you are on a silver plan or higher (silver plan is required to have the ability to create custom packing slips).

All you need to do is add the [Buyer Name] field replacement to your packing slip template.

You can read more about customizing your packing slips in our Packing Slips article here: https://help.shipstation.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026157931-Packing-Slips#UUID-a5798b9b-299e-a62e-3b73-28e1ac5c9436

Order summaries at this time cannot be customized and the buyer name is not a field available for them.
