ShipStation’s Feedback and Fresh Ideas Forum is moving!


We have started the process of moving our ideas forum to a new home in the ShipStation Community.

As of August 4th, 2021, this Feedback and Fresh Ideas Forum is no longer accepting new ideas, votes, or comments. However, this forum will remain visible until shortly after the new Ideas board on the ShipStation Community goes live. After that date, this forum will no longer be visible.

If you would like to post an idea after August 4th but before the new Ideas board is live, we have created a temporary discussion board in the community for you to do so. Once our new Ideas board is live, our moderator will move all posts to their permanent home.

ShipStation has used this same forum since we released our very first version back in 2011. In that time, we’ve implemented hundreds of our users’ ideas! But, as our users and our product has evolved, we’ve realized the way we seek and manage our users’ feedback must evolve as well. Starting in September, all feedback and ideas discussions will take place in the Ideas board of the ShipStation Community

If you are not already a member of the ShipStation Community, please join! You can participate in user discussion boards, read exclusive community blog posts, earn rewards through community exclusive events, and much more. To join, go to community.shipstation.com and click the profile icon. You’ll be prompted to log in to your ShipStation account and then redirected back to the community where you can set your unique username and customize your profile (if you wish). Once registered, you can participate in any discussion on the community. 


What will happen to the existing Feedback and Fresh Ideas posts?


Unfortunately, we cannot move all ideas to the new Ideas forum. The posts we are not moving are being set to the  "Archived" status in this forum.


The posts we do move will maintain their statuses, voter count, comments, and link to the original poster. 

Posts we will move to the new Ideas board: 

  • All posts in Started, Planned, and In Consideration Queue statuses.
  • Some posts in the Under Review status or with no status, based on post age, recent activity, vote count, and relevance.
  • Posts that have been set to Completed within the last 12 months.

  1. Support for Amazon Custom orders

    For sellers that have access to Amazon Custom, it would be very helpful to provide the capability to display and/or download custom order information.

  2. Enable Amazon Shipping API for all eligible Amazon Shipments.

    Amazon offers shipping through an API for Domestic and some International destinations.

    Using the Amazon Shipping API comes with the benefit of Amazon taking responsibility for item not received cases, saving sellers money due to non-delivery claims.

  4. Allow sending Shipment Notifications to multiple email addresses

    We have many many clients who want shipping notifications sent to multiple people in their organizations. Or, with some clients, we want a notification sent to both us and them.

    ShipStation currently allows on email address, despite the fact that the email address field can contain at least 757 characters (I didn't feel the need to check for more than that).

    All of the email systems I'm familiar with allow for multiple email addresses to be listed by using a separator, usually a comma or a semi-colon, to distinguish between unique email addresses, like this:
    "name1@company.com;name2@company.com;…

  7. Print on an envelope

    Hi Guys,

    It seems like it should be obvious, but - why can't ShipStation print on an envelope? You actually give me envelope-formatted postage with address and return address, but... you force me to print it as 4 x 6 which looks ridiculous. See attached picture. It seems like it would be a simple change to add a new print size, or even allow arbitrary print sizes. Seems like an unnecessary constraint to force all labels to be one of two size.

    Attached file shows how silly envelope postage looks printed from ShipStation.

  8. DHL eCommerce SmartMail Parcel Expedited Max

    This shipping option is a game changer for expedited domestic shipping. Guaranteed 2-3 business day delivery broken down by the ounce at under 1 pound. Only problem? ShipStation / Endica won't integrate this one shipping method, forcing us to use a CSV batch upload process that's ridiculous to get the job done.

    Bottom line? I'm still using CSV because the savings are worth it. Integrate the shipping method already and be done with it.

  9. DPD local

    Although DPD and DPD local are part of the same group, DPD Local is the largest direct to consumer and in our experience provide by far the best rates and service compared to other carriers we have used in the past. Intergration with DPD local would by far make ShipStation a far more poplar platform here in the UK.

    Canpar has great rates even without a long shipment history and would be a great asset to add to ShipStation.

    It is reliable and fast service for International. It has guaranteed delivered on time. they have two service for International, 1. Economy Express 2. Express.
    Express is delivered within 1 week. and Economy Express Delivered within 2 week. The Maximum charge for per pound in all over the world is $45.00 with Express Service. The Economy Express will charge $35.00 Maximum all over the world.

  13. Add the Hold At FedEx Location service to Shipstation

    Would like to see the "Hold at FedEx Location" added to the shipping options in ShipStation for FedEx.

    We offer this as an option to our customers so they do not have to worry about items being stolen or "misplaced" while they are away from home.
    It also allows us to ship Via Ground which saves us money on shipping cost.

    Adding International Shipping is available via Australia Post's API

    We have an account with Australia Post and they do international shipping. We would like to integrate the AU POST API to do international shipping

  15. Print Page Numbers On Packing Slips

    Please add a [PageNumber] tag support to the PackingSlip template design screen editor.

    When printing a pack of 50 packing slips for 50 orders, it would be nice to have the ability to see the page numbers on the bottom of those printed packing slips. Each page would show up as 1/50 , 2/50, ... upto 50/50 . This is an important feature to have when printing many orders at once and also when dealing with multiple order batch printings.

    Here are some good reasons to have page number support :

    1) Each order can be easily recognized and organized…

  17. Sorting items within order by SKU

    Once you click into an order to see the items, there is no way to sort those items on the screen. We utilize the images so a printed sorted pack slip does not help. We need a way to arrange/sort items within the specific order on the screen. I know the system is capable of sorting the pack slips by SKU and a variety of other characteristics, please add this same sorting to the popup window that displays the content of an order.

  18. FIMS/Mailview Tracking Integration

    Utilizing FIMS is integral to growing our international sales, not having this option usable really hamstrings us and we are practically begging you to work towards having proper tracking numbers populate in the ShipStation integration. The tracking info given is invalid and has caused some serious issues with customer service and cost us a great deal in re-shipments.

    We are overall very happy with ShipStation and this would just make it that much better.

    We appreciate your continued efforts towards offering this integration.

  20. Disable Shopify note_attributes

    I would prefer that Shopify provide us the ability to choose to enable or disable the mapping of Shopify’s note_attributes field to Customer Notes. This field usually contains custom order data as json markeup based on Shopify's documentation. This field data is not always desired to be brought over for shipping purposes as it mask real buyers’ notes on the orders especially in the list view. Due to the format of the data, it’s not really friendly anyway.

    This is really a bigger issue that I have noted here at the posting below. The note_ attributes field mapping is under-managed…
