ShipStation’s Feedback and Fresh Ideas Forum is moving!


We have started the process of moving our ideas forum to a new home in the ShipStation Community.

As of August 4th, 2021, this Feedback and Fresh Ideas Forum is no longer accepting new ideas, votes, or comments. However, this forum will remain visible until shortly after the new Ideas board on the ShipStation Community goes live. After that date, this forum will no longer be visible.

If you would like to post an idea after August 4th but before the new Ideas board is live, we have created a temporary discussion board in the community for you to do so. Once our new Ideas board is live, our moderator will move all posts to their permanent home.

ShipStation has used this same forum since we released our very first version back in 2011. In that time, we’ve implemented hundreds of our users’ ideas! But, as our users and our product has evolved, we’ve realized the way we seek and manage our users’ feedback must evolve as well. Starting in September, all feedback and ideas discussions will take place in the Ideas board of the ShipStation Community

If you are not already a member of the ShipStation Community, please join! You can participate in user discussion boards, read exclusive community blog posts, earn rewards through community exclusive events, and much more. To join, go to community.shipstation.com and click the profile icon. You’ll be prompted to log in to your ShipStation account and then redirected back to the community where you can set your unique username and customize your profile (if you wish). Once registered, you can participate in any discussion on the community. 


What will happen to the existing Feedback and Fresh Ideas posts?


Unfortunately, we cannot move all ideas to the new Ideas forum. The posts we are not moving are being set to the  "Archived" status in this forum.


The posts we do move will maintain their statuses, voter count, comments, and link to the original poster. 

Posts we will move to the new Ideas board: 

  • All posts in Started, Planned, and In Consideration Queue statuses.
  • Some posts in the Under Review status or with no status, based on post age, recent activity, vote count, and relevance.
  • Posts that have been set to Completed within the last 12 months.

  1. Integration with SalesForce

    As I am sure that many of us use SalesForce for our CRM, it would be great if ShipStation would take all of our customer transaction data and put it into our SalesForce ORG and enable us to ship directly through SalesForce. Sending return labels through SalesForce would also be awesome!

  2. A single User needs to be able to make more than 5 batches

    Users should be able to create more than 5 batches. A single user can easily handle more than 5. We have one label printer who is responsible for up to 8 batches at a time, he has to use to user login accounts in order to have more than 5 batches going. Using two separate logins merely to create more than 5 batches was the work around suggested by support. There's gotta be a better way.

  3. Australian Couriers

    We urgently require more Australian Couriers. We need TNT, Couriers Please and Fastway!

    The lack of available Australian Couriers is very poor and needs to be urgently improved!

  4. Have "Notify Market Place" checkbox defaulted.

    We have to check the box for "Notify Market Place" for every single shipment. If a user forgets, the marketplace doesn't get updated and we have orders sitiing in our website listed as processing.

    Seeing as to how having that box unchecked would be the rarity, and having it checked would be the majority, I feel this should be default checked with the option to uncheck if necessary.

  5. Parcelforce UK integration

    Parcelforce is part of Royal Mail and a large carrier service in the UK, please consider an integration to expand the options available to the UK.

  6. Product - Allow Export or Import of Products and Aliases

    Would be nice to have an import and export of products, with delete option as well.

    For instance if we have 20 Aliases that link to One SKU and basically all 20 are the same SKU, let us import SKU A, and Alias skus 1,2,3,4,5,6, etc to all link to that one instead of doing it manually from the Product cumbersome page.

    Also, all delete option in bulk for all Alias's and skus. Archive doesn't seem to work as long accounts (11 years) tend to re-use numbers and if one is archived it causes havoc.

    ShipStation has had the ability to bulk upload and delete Aliases since early 2020.

  7. bestbuy.ca marketplace

    Shipstation has bestbuy.com but no bestbuy.ca integration. Can this be a quick implentation since your USA bestbuy.com store should not differ much to bestbuy.ca platform.

  9. Add/Remove multiple tags

    Can we bring back the option to add/remove multiple tags at a time. Not just one then the screen closes and you have to open it again for another tag and so on.

  10. Purolator + Special Characters

    There is an issue with french characters (i.e. "é") and Purolator integration.

    If an address has a french caracter i.e. Montréal, Shipstation is not able to get the rates. As soon as we manually correct to Montreal, it gives the rates. It's a lot of manual work for a silly detail..

    On an other hand, we don't have this issue with Canada Post integration.

    Add support for custom messages on the purolator label, purolator eship allows in registering one but your platform does not allow it

    ShipStation’s new layout (formerly known as ShipStation V3) now tracks the print status for your packing slips. The shipment record has a column for “Packing slip printed” that you can view in the Shipments page. Additionally, if you attempt to print a packing slip that has already been printed, ShipStation will pop up an alert to let you know the slip has been printed already and ask if you want to print another.

  13. Bring hotkeys (keyboard shortcuts) back for V3

    When Version 3 rolled out, ShipStation removed keyboard shortcuts. These were very handy and saved time. Please bring back the keyboard shortcuts.

    We added advanced hotkeys into the new ShipStation layout the first week of March! You can view the available hotkeys by selecting the Hotkeys option under the help menu. We also added new Mark as Shipped and Mark as Shipped Bulk hotkeys.

  15. Display Product Options on Packing Slip

    I sell on Amazon Handmade. I use ShipStation for printing labels, but I have to still print the packing slips in Seller Central because ShipStation does not include the product options such as size and color for the products ordered. Can you make it where that information is available in ShipStation. You would save me hours everyday!

    One of our solutions partners, Data Automation, has recently built a connector that provides this functionality.

    You will need to contact Data Automation to sign up for their connector, and they’ll work with you to ensure it’s pulling over the right information into the right fields.

    It looks like another user has provided their own custom solution in the comments as well (thank you!).

    At this time, ShipStation is planning on building a direct integration with the Amazon Custom & Handmade stores. The best option at this point is to go with these external, 3rd party options to pull that data into ShipStation.

  16. Splitting Orders update SkuVault

    Currently, if you split an order, if you keep the same order number it talks to Shopify, but SkuVault can't decipher between the two orders. If you split an order, and add a "-1" to the end, SkuVault recognizes it, but Shopify isn't updated with the additional tracking etc.

    It would be helpful if there was a background ID number, that would like split orders together across the platforms, even if the order number is different.

  17. Syncing products with inventory

    There needs to be a way to sync "Products" with "Inventory". All of our item locations are in Inventory but not Products and there's no way to sync them. This means our packing slips don't show locations. We have many hundreds of items and now no way of displaying where they are stored. Can this be added?? This is enough to make us look for another shipping program!

    The integration to the DHL ecommerce V4 was recently completed and all new connections will automatically use the V4 integration.

    We are migrating existing users to the v4 integration and no action is required on your part for this to occur.

  19. Scanning based Label Printing workflow

    Scan barcode to print shipping label

    This is a production line workflow.

    We create our shipments via your API ahead of time. So on a given Monday we might have 1,000 shipments already set up that are shipping throughout the week.

    This is what we want to do:
    - Create a barcode associated with each shipping label
    - We print barcodes and place on each box on our production line
    - Person scans barcode which automatically finds its matching shipping label and automatically prints the shipping label

    We’ve completed our Scan to Print functionality which allows you to scan a barcode to purchase and print the label without using your keyboard or mouse.

    We’ve reviewed your idea and the overall user feedback and are closing your idea to give your votes back since there hasn’t been any activity here in awhile. This allows everyone to use their votes on other ideas.

    The input you gave is still on our radar and under consideration for future enhancements and your insights are greatly appreciated.

  20. DPD DIRECT SERVICE

    The Service we use is not on Shipstation therefore i cant automate my labels.
    i am guessing this will cause issues with other people who used this service
