  2. Challenge: An easier way to update a customers address when doing manual label entries.

When processing labels manually, SS has no way to allow it's client the option of updating customers records to input a new address. ONLY if you are in the process of creating a label can you enter a new address. So if a customer advises his new address but does not have a pending order that requires a label, I guess we are suppose to keep a list somewhere of all these customers with new addresses and then check our list each time we do a new label to see if that customer has a new address for us to…

  3. Filter by Total Order(s) to see returning customers

I would like to have an automation rule created based on Total Order(s) by customer, so that I can see them at a glance, or have a tag, label, or anything applied to the Order, so that I can see when a customer has placed an order before. Currently I have to hover over each name in the order queue to see if they've placed an order, then I have to input an internal note for my team to recognize and reward these returning customers. This would greatly improve my workflow.

  4. Customer Order Exporting

Shipstation needs a feature that allows you to export customer order data. Since it's deleted after 6 months, there either needs to be an option to export all your customer orders (with their info and notes) or the orders need to be held in the system for much longer than 6 months. I constantly need to check older orders for people and often we had important notes listed as well, which we don't want to loose.

  5. Repeat Customers

Ok so you guys SHOW "Returning Customers" in the Insights UI but there is NO WAY to actually identify / see who the returning customers are.

It would help to obviously be able to SEE your returning customers to re-market to them. Obvious stuff here.

  6. Save customer records without email address

I need shipstation to memorize or import manually entered customer information without the need of putting an an email address. I have a number of customers that prefer to phone in their orders because they don't want to use email. Yes they are older, but we have a good number of them. It is a real pain to enter their information every time they place an order.

  7. API - Add modifyDateStart and modifyDateEnd to ListCustomers

Please add parity with other List* on the API.

ListOrders, ListProducts, and ListShipments all allow us to specify a range for the modify date. ListCustomers does not. It should. It would benefit both parties as anyone using the ListCustomers feature is likely requesting much more data than needed from your servers, since you aren't allowing us to limit the request to a narrow date range.

  8. Edit Customer Info Directly From ShipStation

Currently, when you want to edit a customers information in shipstation, you must create a document, import the document, select edit customer, and then the information will be edited. It would be extremely beneficial for shipstation to have an "edit" button for the customers information to be directly edited from the app. This would allow users to go directly to the customer that needs updating, hit edit, and type the information directly into shipstation. The current process of importing is not intuitive and makes it appear that you are unable to edit a customer (unless you have previously gone through…

  9. visit customer profile from orders

there should be an option to view the customer profile & history from the order grid page. You should also be able to tag a customer (not just the order) from an order.

  10. add ability to search customers based on amount of orders placed, money spent or order date

Add columns in the customer panel to sort or search for customers based on the amount of orders placed, time period orders were placed, total amount spent & total items ordered.
Currently need to manually click on customer to pull up their order history.

  11. Edit and Delete Customers

We need to be able to edit or delete customers from the database without having to upload a csv file. Below are a couple examples for when this would be helpful. I'm sure others here will agree that some simple database management would be greatly appreciated.

I recently had to correct a type-o in a customer record and the process is just unreasonable. Download an example .csv file, add ALL the customer information (not just what needs changing) upload the file, and finally make sure that the original profile was correctly overwritten. It should be as simple as hitting an…

  12. Manually add a new customer without having to import CSV file.

It would be very handy to be able to manually add a new customer without having to import a CSV file. That way the customer's information can easily be accessed and looked up when they are placing an order in the future. In addition, this would allow return shipping labels to created for items that need to come to us before being shipped back to the customer. For example, in a situation where they are sending an item to us for repair/customization/modification/etc.

Hi guys! Thanks for your continued support of this idea. While there is not a way to manually create a new customer record, you can create a manual order and as long as it has a unique email address, this will create a new product record for this customer. This manual order can then be cancelled, merged, or even have its manual store deactivated, and regardless of these order-level actions, the customer record will still remain!

  13. Address Book

We ship to many customers over and over again. For most of these customers, their orders get input manually. Sometimes, shipstation keeps their addresses and we just have to search their name. Other times, for whatever reason, shipstation shunts all of their information. A way to save addresses permanently would be extremely helpful.

    Hi!

To clarify, are you inputting an email address on these manual orders when you are entering them? That is how manual orders’ customer records are saved.

Beyond that, you can import Customer records via a CSV record so long as a unique CustomerID is saved.

Just to clarify your ideas a bit more, what is the best alternative to this workflow that would help you guys save these records?

  14. Multiple customer shipping addresses linked to one email address.

We handle quite a few manual orders where one client will order for multiple locations. It would be nice if multiple locations could be tied to the same email address. Right now, it just keeps the last order used by that email in the customer records so we have to manually type the address each time. Either that or being able to save customer shipping information using something other than an email address (phone # maybe???) to keep it saved in the system.

Hey, @tysonmiller! Thanks for taking the time to add your idea! We’ll keep your idea in mind for future updates, but for now we’d like to see your idea gain interest from other users before making a decision.

You’re right, Customer Records are referenced by their email addresses. You mentioned this is “quite a few” orders. Have you tried to use a CSV file to create these manual orders? This way you can assign the username to a different value to create multiple Customer Records under one name—if not to just do your manual orders all at once.

  15. Track Customer Order Frequency. Ability to place rules based on a customer's order

Track Customer Order Frequency. Have the ability to place rules, report on the number of orders a customer has placed. For example: Joe has placed 3 orders, he receives a free gift. Adding a step to that, the frequency a particular item/sku gets ordered.
