ShipStation’s Feedback and Fresh Ideas Forum is moving!


We have started the process of moving our ideas forum to a new home in the ShipStation Community.

As of August 4th, 2021, this Feedback and Fresh Ideas Forum is no longer accepting new ideas, votes, or comments. However, this forum will remain visible until shortly after the new Ideas board on the ShipStation Community goes live. After that date, this forum will no longer be visible.

If you would like to post an idea after August 4th but before the new Ideas board is live, we have created a temporary discussion board in the community for you to do so. Once our new Ideas board is live, our moderator will move all posts to their permanent home.

ShipStation has used this same forum since we released our very first version back in 2011. In that time, we’ve implemented hundreds of our users’ ideas! But, as our users and our product has evolved, we’ve realized the way we seek and manage our users’ feedback must evolve as well. Starting in September, all feedback and ideas discussions will take place in the Ideas board of the ShipStation Community

If you are not already a member of the ShipStation Community, please join! You can participate in user discussion boards, read exclusive community blog posts, earn rewards through community exclusive events, and much more. To join, go to community.shipstation.com and click the profile icon. You’ll be prompted to log in to your ShipStation account and then redirected back to the community where you can set your unique username and customize your profile (if you wish). Once registered, you can participate in any discussion on the community. 


What will happen to the existing Feedback and Fresh Ideas posts?


Unfortunately, we cannot move all ideas to the new Ideas forum. The posts we are not moving are being set to the  "Archived" status in this forum.


The posts we do move will maintain their statuses, voter count, comments, and link to the original poster. 

Posts we will move to the new Ideas board: 

  • All posts in Started, Planned, and In Consideration Queue statuses.
  • Some posts in the Under Review status or with no status, based on post age, recent activity, vote count, and relevance.
  • Posts that have been set to Completed within the last 12 months.

  1. Shopify Timeline - New Internal note system - needs to be integrated.

    Shopify used to use (notes) and information from that section shows up in ShipStations (Notes from Buyer ) Section. Shopify implemented new way to leave notes and it is called (TIMELINE) notes left in that section do not appear in shipsattion and creates internal communication problems.

    it would be ideal if the TIMELINE notes would up in ShipStation's Internal Notes Section since they serve the same purpose.

  3. FedEX Dangerous goods shipping for expidited air shipments

    We ship FedEx ground primarily but in the winter months would like the option to do expedited air shipments even though our product is a dangerous good in the air. Plus DG paperwork is cumbersome while also requiring the upmost accuracy. With similar templates to what is already provided that could greatly streamline our process and allow us to do more with shipstation.

We are currently reviewing the option to support Dangerous Goods via FedEx and will be sure to update you once we have made a final decision. Please note that our integrated FedEx reseller, FirstMile, does currently support this functionality given their relationship with FedEx. I recommend contacting them for more information.

  4. Royal mail show rates in ShipStation

    Since many sellers start selling in amazon UK, and shipping with Royal Mail, and Shipstation is not integrating with Royal Mail's shipping pricing, will be a good idea since they have flat rate prices for each requested service, (price set according for each customer) therefore asking to be able to enter my charges with royal mail on each service to be able to see the shipping charges before shipping an order and eventually be able to download a report of how much the shipping was charged.

  5. International Shipping Carrier Integration - Aramex

    It would be great if you can add more international carriers that we can use. Aramex is really cost efficient! Please add them into the integration list

  6. Improve Walmart Integration

    The walmart integration does not set values for email, customer ID, or payment method. While those fields are not necessary to ship the order, we pull all shipments out of shipstation via the API to import into our financial system of record (Netsuite).

    If no customer ID is provided by walmart, use the internal shipstation customer ID so it's not null.

    If no payment method is supplied by walmart, hardcode something like 'walmart'.

    Email address would be nice to ask walmart to provide. Ebay and Amazon provide it.

  7. Make Multi-Box Shipment Information Visible in API

    As I understand it the information available in the ShipStation API does not distinguish between single-box and multi-box shipments. We need visibility in the API as to (1) how many boxes are in a shipment, (2) what products are in what box, and (3) the tracking number of each box. This information is essential for generating an EDI 856 (advance ship notice) document.

  8. Paypal integration - send tracking with shipment notification

    Currently SS does not work to notify PayPal of tracking info and ship status. I am told by SS that they are not integrated with the correct PayPal API to allow this to happen. This is a big disadvantage for PayPal users, causing us an extra step by having to manually update each individual order in PayPal with tracking information. The current integration between PayPal and SS is not complete. SS, please do what is needed to integrate fully with PayPal.

  9. Prevent duplicate eBay orders from importing through Shopify

    Shipstation already has a store setting for Volusion stores that prevents eBay orders from importing through Volusion. We need the same for Shopify.

    We sell on Shopify and on eBay. I have both sales channels added to Shipstation. Recently, Shopify has added an eBay integration. We have mapped a few products so their inventories are shared, and the items can be sold on both marketplaces with shared inventory. Shipstation now brings in two orders for ever order placed for these mapped items, one from Shopify and one from eBay.

    We're hand managing each order for now, but this invites errors.…

  10. Multiple Packages in SFP order

    Currently it's not letting us set up multiple packages in a SFP order from Amazon. Why is that and can it be fixed?

  11. Solid Commerce Integration

    Solid Commerce is an inventory management tool similar to Channel Adviser. It helps to list your inventory to the various marketplaces such as eBay, Amazon, Rakuten, Newegg, Sears, and your personal website in one shot. It also stores all of your inventory in one central location so you can have you full quantity on every site instead of dividing inventory up between multiple marketplaces which can result in lost sales.   12. Dangerous Goods labeling - Lithium ion battery

    Many companies ship items with Lithium ion batteries now and the regulations around them are annoying to say the least. While shipping ground in the domestically within the continental US is fairly straightforward, when these types of packages go internationally or by air the labeling and document requirements are more involved.

    My request is more integrated support for Class 9 Dangerous Goods. It is definitely possible to ship these through standard carriers (UPS, Fedex, etc) but there is some additional labels and paperwork that are required. I know UPS now has API integrations for the DG paperwork now. Any level…

    We would love to see ShipStation support Mirakl marketplace platform. We use this for two of our selling platforms and need to manually export/import orders. Seems like a huge platform that many large corporations use to connect small businesses with large ones.

  14. direct delivery

    I would like to see the implementation of the "Direct Delivery" option for UPS packages, which restricts delivery only to the address we ship to and doesn't allow recipients to re-direct the delivery of packages.

    This is essential for fraud protection.

    Hi guys,

    We've recently enrolled with a new marketplace called Onbuy which we are really excited about as an alternative to Amazon since they really champion independent sellers and don't try to catch them out every 5 minutes! But at the moment we have to upload everything manually via csv as we can't integrate shipstation. So would love to see a connection created soon!

  17. Please integrate with Shipped By NewEgg fulfillment

    I use Shipped By NewEgg for quote some packages and it would be nice, if I could use it with the same streamlined easiness as Amazon FBA.

  18. USPS Hold for Pickup option for shipments

    Hold for Pickup is a USPS special service that delivers a package to a USPS facility where it can be picked up by a specified recipient. When the package arrives at the pickup location, the USPS will send an email to the recipient to notify them that the package is available for pickup. To obtain the package, the recipient must present a valid ID matching the recipient information on the shipping label.

    In version 10.0 and higher, Stamps.com Software supports Hold for Pickup.

  19. Do you wish you could send shipping cost back to ChannelAdvisor or mark orders as partially shipped?

    It's possible! ChannelAdvisor now allows via it's API the ability to update line items as shipped instead of the whole order (as ShipStation currently does). Through this mysterious magic of API, they can also send the Shipping Cost, Shipping Tax Cost, and Insurance Cost to ChannelAdvisor. Just image what you could do with all that data! Oh the reports you could run.

    I bet you're saying to yourself "Wow, that sounds wonderful. How can I help make this happen?"...

    All you need to do is upvote this post so that ShipStation sees the err of their deprecated API ways.

  20. Enable Amazon multi-item, multi-package shipment

    ShipStation does not support multi-item shipments on the Amazon connection. We have an order for 4 blenders on seller fulfilled prime, and we now have to log into Seller Central to ship because ShipStation does not support this.

    Umm...please fix.
