The ShipStation Feedback Forum collects your ideas and allows you to vote and comment on other ideas so our product team can understand what new features are most important to you or what business challenges we need to address next.

Everyone has 20 votes to spend on ideas that are important to them (but you can comment as much as you like). 

While all ideas will get reviewed, it's simply not possible for all ideas to make it onto the product roadmap. The more activity an idea has, however, the more likely it is to be considered. So, be sure to check if your idea has already been posted so you can add your votes and comments to it! 

Suggestions for Writing a Great Idea Post

  • Write a title to succinctly summarize your post. Other users should be able to identify if their idea is similar to yours just by reading the title so they will know to vote and comment on it!
  • Explain the problem you are trying to solve and what you think should be added or changed in ShipStation to solve this problem. 
  • Describe how you would use this feature or how you think it should function to serve your need.
  • Attach a screenshot to help illustrate your point. 
  • Put the idea in the category that best fits what you are trying to accomplish (for example: Order Management, Insights & Reporting, or Printing & Documents).

What to Expect With an Idea 


Our moderators will regularly review posts to ensure:
    • They are categorized in a logical way. If not, they may move them to the proper category. 
    • The title accurately reflects the idea content so others can understand. If not, they may edit the post title to help others identify posts they want to vote and comment on.
    • That posts are really ideas and not bug reports or issues that require contacting our support team. 
    • That any request that has an existing solution or can be accomplished with existing features gets a response to let everyone know a solution or feature already exists and how to learn about it.
Our moderators will also update the statuses of posts as they are considered by our product team. If an idea makes it onto the roadmap, we'll update the idea status from Planned to Started to Completed as work progresses on the idea. If an idea is declined or archived, our moderator will update the status to indicate so and you will receive your votes back to use on other ideas in the future. 

Finally, if more information is needed on an idea, the moderator will post a reply to ask for them. If it is your idea or you have commented on the idea, you should receive an email notification when this occurs.

  1. calendar holidays

    Allow a pop up notification if we schedule a ship date that is on a holiday. Load all the yearly shipping holidays for USPS, FedEx, UPS. If we select a future date that has as shipping holiday, a pop up note saying it is a USPS holiday for example would help us to then select a different date for shipping.

  2. Put carrier_code and service_code in ShipNotice

    The ShipNotice hook with the custom store integration passes Carrier and Service in the request, but not carriercode and servicecode. The latter would be more robust.


    1. You call the service "FedEx Ground©", but we call it "FedEx Ground" without the pesky © symbol. Sure, we could strip that out before matching on the name, but that's silly when...

    2. You require servicecode in other API calls, such as creating a label for an order. So we need to store that servicecode on our end anyway. Might as well match on that, as a code is much less…

  3. Channel Class in QuickBooks

    Channel Class in QuickBooks

    We track Profit and Loss by Class in QuickBooks, and the class is the channel, e.g., "Amazon." We'd like ShipStation to prioritize the ability to populate the "Class" Field at the product and sales receipt level.

    It's real useful to see the income statement broken down by Channel / Class.

  4. UPS Exchange Shipping Service

    UPS are offering a shipping service for exchanging orders that is faster than any exchange procedure with regular shipping.

    Adding this shipping service to ShipStation will help managing exchanges and eventually will offer a much better shopping experience online when getting an item that doesn't fit you.

  5. Adding An Post (Ireland) and other European Carriers

    My company is opening a branch in Europe to better serve our customers there. Shipstation has been an invaluable asset here in the US, but unfortunately, does not integrate with any of the European carriers we need (specifically An Post out of Ireland).

  6. Support GetEligibleShippingServices via the API for the amazon_shipping carrier

    When using the amazon_shipping carrier for merchant-fulfilled Prime, there doesn't seem to be a way to get a list of the services that meet the two-day eligibility requirement: shipments/getrates returns an error because it's not associated with an Amazon order. It'd be nice if shipments/getrates could be upgraded to support this call in the context of an order, or if there was an orders/getrates endpoint that would return rates for a given order. This way, we could see what services are actually available, akin to the GetEligibleShippingServices call in Amazon MWS.

    Hey @Nicholas, thank you for bringing this up! Currently, we’ll show you all the services but if you go to the rate calculator you’ll be able to see which ones are applicable.

    If you’re looking at the order details window, there is a button that says “Send to Calc”. This’ll send the postal code, weight, and size (if you’ve entered them) to the rate calculator to show you available services.

    If you’re looking at the order from the sidebar and grid, there is a calculator icon next to the Ship from field that will do the same thing.

    Hopefully this will help you while we wait for other users to chime in.

  7. Ability to Export Internal Notes from the Shipments Page

    It would be a good idea to be able to Export Internal Notes from the Shipments Page. It can already be exported from the orders page.

    We would like to import our customers from ShipStation into QuickBooks with as much detail as possible. QuickBooks has an area to enter notes, and they can be imported if that can be exported from ShipStation.

    Thanks for bringing this up! What kind of information are you looking to pull over into Quickbooks?

    If you’re looking for a way to export data out of ShipStation, you can get the internal notes from your orders page. Once you’ve clicked on “Export orders”, check the box that says “show advanced options”—this will reveal much more information about your orders including the data you’re looking for.

    Please let me know here if this isn’t what you were looking for so we can see if there’s anything else you can do today!

  8. Pressero integration

    You really need to add an integration to Pressero. I along with many many users in the print industry have no easy way to ship out orders. This integration would be extremely helpful for completing the shipping process. Currently the only way is by manually creating labels. They are the "Leading" for Web 2 Print software for the entire printing community. It should be an easy integration since they also connect with Zapier.   9. usps pick up confirmations

    Sorry If I have posted this multiple times. USPS supplies a pick up confirmation number when you schedule a pick via USPS.Com or Stamps.com. This number is requested when you call the post office to inquire about pick ups. This is very useful. Currently Shipstation does not supply this

  10. Add TagIDs to the Post data for Custom Stores

    We have TagIDs set up within station, and we've added a Custom Store Integration to interface with our other site.
    However, we are unable to send TagIds with the XML for the order in the post data.
    It would be nice if TagIDs were one of the fields that could be sent in the Custom Store Integration XML.

  12. SED citation on Label and customizable commercial invoice

    We have been employing shipstation as our primary shipping software domestically. We would also like to incorporate shipstation as our primary shipping software for "BULK INTERNATIONAL" Shipments. Currently shipstaton does not offer the ability to add the SED/EEI filed to the label that is generated. To ship internationally the label must have an AES Citation. Shipstation does not cover EEI,Most shipping software such as shiprush and shipwire already incoporate these features and they should be easy to implement.In addition to the AES citation we would like an editable platform for commercial invoice generation.     Hello,

    Thank you for submitting this request and helping us to improve ShipStation! We will need to review the API documentation with our carriers to determine if this is possible with our current integrations. As of now, we send all shipping parameters to a carrier, they generate the labels/manifests/customs declarations/etc in real time, send it back to us, then we allow you to easily print them in our software.

  13. Import Warehouse Location from Volusion

    We would like a way to include "Warehouse Location" in the product attributes that are retrieved from Volusion. We have a custom product attribute in Volusion database for "WarehouseLocation" and it would be great if the that information could be imported to ShipStation

We will need to review the integration documentation for Volusion to determine if they are sending us this information.   14. Need to approve the estimated delivery date before processing an Amazon FBA Fulfillment

    If you create a multi-channel shipment manually in Amazon Seller Central, they'll tell you the estimated delivery date before you approve the shipment request.The problem we're having is that Amazon is often taking up to 5 business days to ship our Expedited (2-day shipping) Multichannel orders. This infuriates customers, since they're paying for 2-day shipping, they don't want to wait 7 business days for their package to arrive.If Shipstation shows us this date, we can abort the fulfillment and choose to ship the order another way.

    Hey @Eric, thanks for posting this. I noticed this one is from October and wanted to see if you’re still experiencing this today.

    I’m not seeing this data being passed over from Amazon so ShipStation can’t post this data for you.

    Living Social works the same way OpenSky does. Why are you integrated with one and not the other? Seems like a simple integration to do.

  16. Allow the restriction of shipping services to a particular warehouse.

    The title basically says it all. It would be helpful to be able to restrict a particular shipping service or carrier based on location.

  17. Export Status on List Shipments

    I'm using the ShipStation APIs to create new orders and retrieve shipment information. Unless I've missed something obvious I see no way to limit the ListShipments method to only retrieve shipments that I haven't already exported. We could keep our responses smaller and more streamlined if there was an "Export Status" that could be used as a filter on the GET request. The export status would be false by default and then flipped to true either upon issuing the GET request or through a POST/PUT request to update the shipment.
