The ShipStation Feedback Forum collects your ideas and allows you to vote and comment on other ideas so our product team can understand what new features are most important to you or what business challenges we need to address next.

Everyone has 20 votes to spend on ideas that are important to them (but you can comment as much as you like). 

While all ideas will get reviewed, it's simply not possible for all ideas to make it onto the product roadmap. The more activity an idea has, however, the more likely it is to be considered. So, be sure to check if your idea has already been posted so you can add your votes and comments to it! 

Suggestions for Writing a Great Idea Post

  • Write a title to succinctly summarize your post. Other users should be able to identify if their idea is similar to yours just by reading the title so they will know to vote and comment on it!
  • Explain the problem you are trying to solve and what you think should be added or changed in ShipStation to solve this problem. 
  • Describe how you would use this feature or how you think it should function to serve your need.
  • Attach a screenshot to help illustrate your point. 
  • Put the idea in the category that best fits what you are trying to accomplish (for example: Order Management, Insights & Reporting, or Printing & Documents).

What to Expect With an Idea 


Our moderators will regularly review posts to ensure:
    • They are categorized in a logical way. If not, they may move them to the proper category. 
    • The title accurately reflects the idea content so others can understand. If not, they may edit the post title to help others identify posts they want to vote and comment on.
    • That posts are really ideas and not bug reports or issues that require contacting our support team. 
    • That any request that has an existing solution or can be accomplished with existing features gets a response to let everyone know a solution or feature already exists and how to learn about it.
Our moderators will also update the statuses of posts as they are considered by our product team. If an idea makes it onto the roadmap, we'll update the idea status from Planned to Started to Completed as work progresses on the idea. If an idea is declined or archived, our moderator will update the status to indicate so and you will receive your votes back to use on other ideas in the future. 

Finally, if more information is needed on an idea, the moderator will post a reply to ask for them. If it is your idea or you have commented on the idea, you should receive an email notification when this occurs.

  1. Shipments API filter by modifyDateStart modifyDateEnd

    Currently, List Orders has a modifyDateStart and modifyDateEnd which makes it possible for a single API call to be used to get all orders that were updated during that time.

    We use api calls to populate shipstation data into our local database. modifyDate allows us to even make sure data that is already in our database is updated and if it's not there, it's added.

    To get all updates for shipments, as far as I can tell, you need 2 calls. One for createDateStart/End and another for voidDateStart. Unless I'm wrong...please let me know the alternative if there is one.

  2. Prevent duplicate eBay orders from importing through Shopify

    Shipstation already has a store setting for Volusion stores that prevents eBay orders from importing through Volusion. We need the same for Shopify.

    We sell on Shopify and on eBay. I have both sales channels added to Shipstation. Recently, Shopify has added an eBay integration. We have mapped a few products so their inventories are shared, and the items can be sold on both marketplaces with shared inventory. Shipstation now brings in two orders for ever order placed for these mapped items, one from Shopify and one from eBay.

    We're hand managing each order for now, but this invites errors.…

  3. UPS Commercial invoices for International Shipments printing incorrectly

    This is a very bad flaw in Shipstation...the bill to and the ship to address on UPS Commercial invoices print incorrectly.

    The "ship to" address will appear as the "bill to" address, even if they are different. There is no option to manually edit the addresses on the commercial invoice.

    Also, the form listed the wrong currency and there was no way to manually change this.

    We are very dissappointed in Shipstation right now.

  5. USPS Certified Mail

    It would be really great if you guys were able to add the option to send via USPS certified mail. We're sending out important checks a lot of the time and need confirmation of their receipt. It's too expensive to send via UPS Ground just for confirmation of delivery. This would be pretty simple to implement. Thanks.

  6. Restrict Shipping Carrier Selection by Region

    I would like to be able to restrict which carriers and services can be used to ship based on the destination country. Several countries have very poor service from certain carriers such as USPS, and if our fulfillment center sends an international package via USPS first class to a country such as UAE or China, the package will often take over a month to arrive or more likely disappear entirely.   8. Need Automation Rule to report zero dollars or free shipping to marketplace

    For some customers we offer free shipping or charge a fixed shipping amount. I need to set up an automation rule to apply a fixed dollar amount that I specify back to the marketplace. But this ability does not exist in Shipstation.

    The rule would look something like this...if "buyer name" equals (buyer name that I specify) then set shipping amount to (dollar amount that I specify).

    Can this rule be added?

  9. Shipstation sync error

    Currently when shipstation syncs transactions with Quickbooks, whenever the sync date is shows up as the transaction date of the order date on Quickbooks, which is obviously not correct. The transaction date should be the order date or shipped date. Also the orginal order number isn't showing correctly on Quickbooks either, instead its showing some random number starts with SS-4??

  11. Currency needs to be defined by Store

    The internet is a global marketplace, with most sellers selling in multiple currencies (which is usually defined by the store / marketplace), so to ensure that ShipStation is using correct values for Customs and reporting, we (a significant proportion of your customers) URGENTLY need the currency to be defined by store and the value converted into the merchants local currency.

  12. Royal Mail Customs Declarations

    The Royal Mail integration is generally well done but we're still having to manually write custom declaration labels for non-EU shipments.

    Having moved from a cheaper shipping platform that offered automated labels (exactly like UPS) this is a step backward.

    Can we please have declaration labels for Royal Mail. The digital declaration is going to be required very soon by RM I believe so ShipStation may not be compliant.

  13. Royal Mail Tracking

    Could we get royal mail tracking within shipstation? As far as I am aware there is a RM tracking API which allows pulling this information without going to the RM tracking page. Royal mail also offers delivery tracking for the 24 and 48 service which does not require signature. It would be great to have tracking information for these parcels too or at least the parcel number populated in the tracking field. Currently we have to take this from the label manually.

  14. Poshmark added to Shipstation.

    Are there any plans on adding Poshmark? I know they generate their own labels but, Shipstation would help in tracking the orders after the labels are printed. Maybe import the labels and mark them as shipped when printed. It would be nice to have all of our channels together.

    As developing a seamless integration typically requires cooperation from both parties, we recommend reaching out to Poshmark and expressing your interest in an integration to help expedite this process.

  15. RoyalMail 24 and 48 - tracking number/serial numer sent to marketplace as tracking

    Royal Mail does provide serial number / tracking number for cheap services RoyaMail24 and RoyaMail48.
    on RoyalMail tracking page you can check wherethere package was delivered or not. It isn't exactly tracking number, but it does give this information.
    What would be useful, is if this number, that is displayed on shipping label, was included for those services as tracking number.


    1. It would give us the ability to check quicker what has happened to parcel.

    2. Shipstation already sends tracking numbers back to marketplaces, this one could be sent to marketplaces too. For customers sake.

  16. Add a feature to automatically select a different account to bill depending on the shipping service selected.

    Add a feature to allow different billing accounts to automatically be selected based on the shipping service. For example, we have multiple UPS accounts, one of which is for 2nd Day Air rates only. I am currently unable to set it up to bill that account automatically. I have to go into each 2nd Day Air order, and change the account manually. It is very time consuming, and there is always the possibility to miss an order, and then we are charged a higher shipping rate.

  17. Automated Shipping Price Comparison Between Multiple Carriers

    Automated Rule for comparing 2 or more shipping options and choosing least expensive.

    We ship using FedEx, UPS, and USPS.
    It would save us a huge amount of time and money each year if each order would automatically pick the cheapest shipping option between selected carriers.

    For example:
    1. Order # 1234567 for a "blue widget" gets imported into SS with dimensions 8" X 6" X 4" and weighs 11lbs


    1. Automated Rule checks price for FedEx Home Delivery, UPS Ground, and USPS Priority mail Package.


    2. FedEx: $12, UPS $12.50, USPS $11.50


    3. Order # 1234567 automatically gets assigned to USPS Priority…

    We are hoping you could potentially look into an integration with Shipstation. The company specialises in shipments to Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. As sometimes these places can be very difficult to deliver too. We ship to these countries on a daily basis. If you could look into this that would be fantastic, look forward to your response.

    Need a way to track actual ship date. Currently, ship date is entered when creating labels. This is fine but we also need a way to track actual ship date or date label gets scanned in by carrier.
