The ShipStation Feedback Forum collects your ideas and allows you to vote and comment on other ideas so our product team can understand what new features are most important to you or what business challenges we need to address next.

Everyone has 20 votes to spend on ideas that are important to them (but you can comment as much as you like). 

While all ideas will get reviewed, it's simply not possible for all ideas to make it onto the product roadmap. The more activity an idea has, however, the more likely it is to be considered. So, be sure to check if your idea has already been posted so you can add your votes and comments to it! 

Suggestions for Writing a Great Idea Post

  • Write a title to succinctly summarize your post. Other users should be able to identify if their idea is similar to yours just by reading the title so they will know to vote and comment on it!
  • Explain the problem you are trying to solve and what you think should be added or changed in ShipStation to solve this problem. 
  • Describe how you would use this feature or how you think it should function to serve your need.
  • Attach a screenshot to help illustrate your point. 
  • Put the idea in the category that best fits what you are trying to accomplish (for example: Order Management, Insights & Reporting, or Printing & Documents).

What to Expect With an Idea 


Our moderators will regularly review posts to ensure:
    • They are categorized in a logical way. If not, they may move them to the proper category. 
    • The title accurately reflects the idea content so others can understand. If not, they may edit the post title to help others identify posts they want to vote and comment on.
    • That posts are really ideas and not bug reports or issues that require contacting our support team. 
    • That any request that has an existing solution or can be accomplished with existing features gets a response to let everyone know a solution or feature already exists and how to learn about it.
Our moderators will also update the statuses of posts as they are considered by our product team. If an idea makes it onto the roadmap, we'll update the idea status from Planned to Started to Completed as work progresses on the idea. If an idea is declined or archived, our moderator will update the status to indicate so and you will receive your votes back to use on other ideas in the future. 

Finally, if more information is needed on an idea, the moderator will post a reply to ask for them. If it is your idea or you have commented on the idea, you should receive an email notification when this occurs.

  2. combine order summary

    Please make it so Order Summaries with combined orders print all together. When you combine an order, then print an order summary for a group of orders, the summary will show those orders separately and all over the place still. If they were combined there would be less order 'picking' errors.

  3. Sort Shipping carriers in the label section

    It would be helpful to be able to sort the Shipping Service carriers in the drop down menu for creating the label. The ones we typically use are at the very bottom. It would be more efficient to have them moved to the top.

  4. Order Number included on shipping label as a BarCode

    It would be helpful to have an option to add a Barcoded version of the Order Number to the shipping label (say below the tracking barcode). That way when an order gets packed it would be easy to scan the order number to ensure the right order is going in the right box.

  5. Simpler (and smaller) labels for First Class Letters

    ShipStation currently only has the ability to print labels in 4x6 format, meaning that First Class Letter mailings that are smaller than this size (such as a #10 envelope) can't be handled through ShipStation.

    Can we put on the roadmap, a feature which would allow simple, small labels which would fit on an envelope, to be created and printed through ShipStation?

  6. printing options

    FedEx and UPS have different types of labels. Printing adjustments need to be implemented per carrier. For example, ref 1 and ref 2 would come out differently for UPS and FedEx labels. As of right now, if you want you PO to come out as ref 1 on UPS it will not come out as PO reference on FedEx.

  7. print one packing slip per page AND a packing slip with label on another page.

    I would like to have the capability to print one packing slip to a full sheet AND print a packing slip and label on a separate full sheet. If you need to add a new form called "invoice" so that could print one per full sheet that would be acceptable as well. This is definitly needed for printing bulk labels. When more than one order is selected it always prints 2 packing slips per page.

  8. printing packing slip status on orders screen

    We print the packing list to pull our items. There is no way to see if the packing list has been printed. We need this to display as a column on the order screen. Currently this can only be viewed in the shipments tab. "packing list printed". At shift change or when trying to trouble shoot there is not a way to determine this from the orders tab. If it has been printed, it is most likely somewhere in the warehouse being fulfilled. Not knowing this, can lead to it being printed a second time and a duplicate order pulled.…

  9. Add Scaling/Page Fit Option to ShipStation Connect

    Add ability to enter a default scaling percentage when printing via ShipStation Connect. We use a custom label size which means 4x6 labels have to be scaled down to fit. If we could specify this scaling, that would allow us to skip opening the system print dialog box and applying settings manually. Thanks!

  10. test label

    We can create a "test label" when using USPS, but that option is not available when using UPS.
    We had an issue the other day editing an address on a UPS label, but the only way to verify it was to purchased it...then we had to cancel them...about three times! What a pain.

    Turns out, for some stupid reason, you have to UNCHECK the "autocorrect" box in the edit window to get the corrected address to stay and print correctly on your label. SOOOO frustrating!

  11. Catalog Labels

    We've recently created a catalog and would like to ship this item to customers the most cost efficient way possible. It would be great to be able to print a smaller label and ship them the way magazines are shipped instead of putting them inside of an envelope and shipping them first class.

  14. Why doesn't the picklist print options have the choice to print the name of the batch?

    The picklist prints with no identifier on it!! If I assign a pick list, and then the shipper collects the items and goes to create labels/packing lists, they don't know which batch they have!

  15. custom fields shopify metadata

    Are there more options outside of those 9 that can map to the custom fields? Can we create our own mapping? I am using the giftship plugin for shopify and would like to map the from field and tiny note to the label custom fields as it would greatly improve our company's productivity.

    Need to have the ability to print a shipping manifest or a print a batch manifest in alphabetical order.

  17. Custom Fields not linkable to delivery information DPD Local

    Why can't the custom information fields from shipstation be linked to the delivery information field in DPD Local?

    I've gone round in circles between DPD local and Shipsation support. And both seem to say it's the other businesseses problem/ issue

  18. Generating customs invoices in correct currency

    When a customer buys in dollars or euros from our site, it doesn't go through to the customs forms as dollars - it generates in GBP.

    A customer in the US spent in dollars (under $800) which shouldn't mean they have to pay customs charges (as I believe it is set at $800) but it generated the customs invoice in £ (which then took the invoice over $800) and the customer has been charged $100 to receive their parcel.

    Please can you let me know why this has happened and if this is the case that all customs declarations will…

  19. 4x4 labels! DPD only use this format

    Implement a 4x4 label format as currently anyone using DPD can't print via ShipStation. DPD only use this size and they provide free labels and printers so no brainer!

  20. Automate EORI Numbers

    It is a legal requirement that EORI numbers are used on shipping goods from the UK to EU and Rest of the World. This field has been implemented granted, but still requires manual intervention to apply the EORI to each order, not an easy task when shipping 1000's of parcels a week off shore. Can this not be automated by rule, that when shipping to EU, the EU EORI number is selected, and when shipping outside of the EU (Rest of World) the UK EORI is used?
