ShipStation’s Feedback and Fresh Ideas Forum is moving!


We have started the process of moving our ideas forum to a new home in the ShipStation Community.

As of August 4th, 2021, this Feedback and Fresh Ideas Forum is no longer accepting new ideas, votes, or comments. However, this forum will remain visible until shortly after the new Ideas board on the ShipStation Community goes live. After that date, this forum will no longer be visible.

If you would like to post an idea after August 4th but before the new Ideas board is live, we have created a temporary discussion board in the community for you to do so. Once our new Ideas board is live, our moderator will move all posts to their permanent home.

ShipStation has used this same forum since we released our very first version back in 2011. In that time, we’ve implemented hundreds of our users’ ideas! But, as our users and our product has evolved, we’ve realized the way we seek and manage our users’ feedback must evolve as well. Starting in September, all feedback and ideas discussions will take place in the Ideas board of the ShipStation Community

If you are not already a member of the ShipStation Community, please join! You can participate in user discussion boards, read exclusive community blog posts, earn rewards through community exclusive events, and much more. To join, go to community.shipstation.com and click the profile icon. You’ll be prompted to log in to your ShipStation account and then redirected back to the community where you can set your unique username and customize your profile (if you wish). Once registered, you can participate in any discussion on the community. 


What will happen to the existing Feedback and Fresh Ideas posts?


Unfortunately, we cannot move all ideas to the new Ideas forum. The posts we are not moving are being set to the  "Archived" status in this forum.


The posts we do move will maintain their statuses, voter count, comments, and link to the original poster. 

Posts we will move to the new Ideas board: 

  • All posts in Started, Planned, and In Consideration Queue statuses.
  • Some posts in the Under Review status or with no status, based on post age, recent activity, vote count, and relevance.
  • Posts that have been set to Completed within the last 12 months.

  1. Fix issues with Puerto Rico (USA)

    While selecting multiple orders to print from multiple channels, if one of the orders is from Puerto Rico USA, and pressing print labels it will get stuck on the loading wheel. Found out that Puerto Rico needs customs declaration and after inserting this multiple print batch orders works fine... need a way to notify the user to insert customs declaration values after pressing print

  2. Custom Sort Ordering for Print Lists

    Currently, the SKU ordering is not the most intuitive - I'd like to have more options for how to sort order products on the printed lists. For example, in the Pick List orders sorted by SKU are showing up in this order:

    A1, A2, A30, A3, A4

    Which means that our pickers have to go out of order - I'd either like that sort order to be fixed (so A30 is at the end of the list) or to have the option for a custom sort order.

  3. Using the UPC on Pick Lists and Shipping Labels

    Although using the UPC in the SCAN functions is quite useful. I would like to provide identification to pickers who are picking Mass Picks (ie orders calling for the same product on a large number of orders and printed as a batch). This would allow the picker to further confirm that he/she is picking the correct item by comparing label to UPC on product before staging them for a mass shipment.

    Would like to be able to print the UPC number in the message sections of Shipping labels.

  4. Show item qty on reshipped labels

    When printing duplicate labels by pressing the "Create another shipment" button, quantity of items does not show on the label since the new Shipstation updates. It's vital to have this to prevent shipping errors!

  5. Mac Support for Brother QL-1100 printer.

    It would be great if ShipStation supported the Brother QL-1100 printer for Macs.

  7. packing slips order date

    Please work with Packing Slip Order Date for non-US for example 04/30/2021 should be 30/04/2021 as this cannot be change in the packing slip template.

  8. Dash looks like a minus symbol.. ie looks like the variant is subtracted

    In the product layout and packing slip layout, the dash " - " after the product (and before the variant) looks like a minus symbol, which can be confusing as it looks like the product's variant/option is subtracted. My suggestion would be to change the dash to a colon " : "

  9. Dynamically change packing slips depending on item sku

    I would like to be able to change the font color for the items on the packing slips depending on the SKU. For instance we sell gold, black, brown etc brackets so if I could change the font color to be gold on the item name on the packing slip that would be helpful. We sell a lot of the same items but in different colors, so I think it would help to decrease the number of order picking mistakes if there were different font colors.

  10. End of Day Manifests in Bulk

    For Aus Post/StarTrack Orders - Under Shipments > End of Day

    Currently, you have to close your orders off by shipment date or by the date the labels were printed on.

    This could lead the users to overlook manifesting for some orders if they were only doing this process weekly.

    This should be displayed as a general list, per ORDERS > AWAITING SHIPMENT (as an example). A filter option feature could then be added, so the user could filter by day.

    It would be handy if you could just automate this process, under your automation section.

  12. Simplified Shipping Re-purchase Process - one button

    It's a common issue...... customer orders product; it's shipped and then lost/delayed by the courier company.

    Current process is that a second, manual order has to be created to reship. This is time consuming and if a new, manual order, creates a non-associated manual order.

    It would be great if there was an option to create another shipping label within an original order. If you ADD SHIPMENT, you still have to fill in the Customs forms for Int. deliveries. One button could do it.

    The second issue relates to this and would be similar for re-ship part orders, for example…

  13. Export Pick List to CSV

    It would be great to be able to export the Pick List data to csv or excel spreadsheet. This would be very handy in quickly being able to upload the csv into other various fulfillment/production/accounting applications.

  14. Aus post print

    Would like to have the option to print on Australia post pre-printed labels - 4 per page for regular and 3 per page for express, per the attached labels.
    Print settings are very limited

  15. USPS Frist Class Mail >Label>>Document Options>>>Label Branding

    USPS currently prints Message #1,#2, #3 on First Class Parcel labels but the Messages do not print on First Class Mail Labels. I have been printing them on Teapplix for years and both platforms use the Stamps.com template. Shipstation support stated that this is not currently supported and suggested leaving feedback to add to future modifications. This is important to our business.

  16. Import Vendor for Packing Slips

    It would be so helpful if I could print a vendor name on a packing slip. This is the brand that creates the product, not our business information. We sell products from over 40 vendors and just having the product name is not enough. Please implement this. The workaround is very time consuming (updating each item individually in Shipstation).

  17. Remove discount as an item

    I have a shopify store and it would be very helpful if you could remove the discounts from the line items.

    When I add the total QTY to my footer, it always adds the discount. This confuses my team and unnecessary steps/time to making sure we aren't missing an extra item. Please help.

  19. Ability to Change Default Ship Date

    Current problem: The default ship date for labels is the creation date, but you cannot schedule same day pickups from carriers (carriers do not permit that). So users are left with having to manually change the ship date on every label, or driving to the post office for same day shipments.

    Proposed solution: Allow users to change the default ship date on their labels.

  20. bluetooth enabled scanners

    I think it would be very helpful if bluetooth barcode scanners were able to be used in scanning packing slips that print on labels. For example, the majority of sellers are using either a tablet or an iPad that would need the capability of connecting to bluetooth with ShipStation. I was unaware that you cannot use a bluetooth barcode scanner with ShipStation and that is a major drawback for me. Please let me know if there is something that I may be missing and it will work, but if we could somehow be able to implement that, it would be…
