ShipStation’s Feedback and Fresh Ideas Forum is moving!


We have started the process of moving our ideas forum to a new home in the ShipStation Community.

As of August 4th, 2021, this Feedback and Fresh Ideas Forum is no longer accepting new ideas, votes, or comments. However, this forum will remain visible until shortly after the new Ideas board on the ShipStation Community goes live. After that date, this forum will no longer be visible.

If you would like to post an idea after August 4th but before the new Ideas board is live, we have created a temporary discussion board in the community for you to do so. Once our new Ideas board is live, our moderator will move all posts to their permanent home.

ShipStation has used this same forum since we released our very first version back in 2011. In that time, we’ve implemented hundreds of our users’ ideas! But, as our users and our product has evolved, we’ve realized the way we seek and manage our users’ feedback must evolve as well. Starting in September, all feedback and ideas discussions will take place in the Ideas board of the ShipStation Community

If you are not already a member of the ShipStation Community, please join! You can participate in user discussion boards, read exclusive community blog posts, earn rewards through community exclusive events, and much more. To join, go to community.shipstation.com and click the profile icon. You’ll be prompted to log in to your ShipStation account and then redirected back to the community where you can set your unique username and customize your profile (if you wish). Once registered, you can participate in any discussion on the community. 


What will happen to the existing Feedback and Fresh Ideas posts?


Unfortunately, we cannot move all ideas to the new Ideas forum. The posts we are not moving are being set to the  "Archived" status in this forum.


The posts we do move will maintain their statuses, voter count, comments, and link to the original poster. 

Posts we will move to the new Ideas board: 

  • All posts in Started, Planned, and In Consideration Queue statuses.
  • Some posts in the Under Review status or with no status, based on post age, recent activity, vote count, and relevance.
  • Posts that have been set to Completed within the last 12 months.

  1. Set the Ship Date to the next "Business" day after cut-off time, instead of "calendar" day

    Set the Ship Date to the next "Business" day (instead of "Calendar" Day) if the time is after XXXX

    It will give all Friday USPS orders the correct ship date to be Monday, instead of Saturday, when USPS is closed.

  2. Allow new print template for CN22

    In the UK we are meant to use a standard sticker for low value exports that contains informations for the receiving countries customs team to quickly identify the contents of the package.

    In ShipStation we only have the cusoms invoice which is barely readable when printed to a 6x4 label.
    All it would take to satisfy UK needs would be to add a new customs invoice template in the form of a CN22.

  3. price on picklist

    Hi, it would be very helpful to have the item price on the Pick List.
    this way ill know where to look for that item, some items I put in a different location based on the price

  4. Purolator - OrderNo on labels

    We are currently unable to add the Order Number on the Purolator label.

    If you go under Settings -> Printing Setup --> Labels document option, I can specify to print the order # under label messages. It works fine for Canada Post but it doesn't work for Purolator.

  5. Create Barcode for Shipping Label that can be taken to UPS store and they print label

    Sometimes Salesperson or Technicians need to ship a package. They can't print a label.

    Would like to create a barcode (like what is available on UPS.com) to walk-in to the UPS store, show the barcode on their phone, and then the UPS store can print the label from the barcode.

  6. Label Same Direction as Invoice/Packing Slip

    I would like to orient my Invoice/Packing Slip on my Burris Forms Integrated Label to be the same direction as the shipping label (see Sample-Integrated-Label.pdf). To have the Invoice/Packing Slip printed in a different direction as the label makes it very awkward to confirm all the information when checking orders. This should be a simple fix and a very convenient one for order pickers & checkers.

  7. A need for printing alias sku's on shipping labels instead of sku's attached to marketplace orders.

    It would be extremely helpful if we could print the alias sku's created in Shipstation on shipping labels, packing slips and pick lists instead of printing the sku's from specific marketplace orders. Currently, only the order specific marketplace sku can be printed on the shipping label.

    As our business has grown and evolved, we understand our own needs better. We now have the need to change our internal sku format. We don't want to change these products, just the sku. However, changing these sku's at the marketplace level, especially Amazon is extremely difficult and can be detrimental to product rank.…

  8. Make Label Queue Visible to All Users Account-wide

    We need a process that allows anyone who is logged into our account on shipstation via a mobile App or another PC to immediately create a shipping label which would be placed into a queue that everyone on the same account can see. This would allow immediate notification that an order has been processed and would enable our off-site warehouse to print, pack and ship orders that were placed in the label queue. Right now it appears the label queue is not visible across all users who are logged into the same account.

  9. Increasing limit of orders on End of Day (EOD) report (Royal Mail)

    At the moment, Shipstation only allows 250 items per sales order (EOD manifest) with Royal Mail. This means that users cannot benefit from volume discounts provided by Royal Mail (as these orders need to be on the same sales order.

    For example, I get a sales discount if I send out 400 orders per day, these will be split into 2 sales orders (of 250 and 150). I get a discount from Royal Mail for sending out 300 orders, but this will not be recognised, as neither sales order shows 300 orders.

    There should be no upper limit on orders…

  10. Create customs declarations for Royal Mail orders sent from UK to Channel Islands

    Royal Mail require customs data for shipping orders to Guernsey and Jersey but Shipstation doesn't let us add declarations for these orders, so we have to ship them through other software.

  11. Shipping Label File Format

    Shipstation only prints shipping labels in PDF format. Amazon currently does not accept return shipping labels in the PDF format. My current workaround is to take a screenshot of the shipping label. It would be cleaner to be able to download shipping labels in other file formats, such as PNG and JPEG.

  12. Making International Shipping more efficient

    Some of these ideas have been partially covered by other suggestions, but I wanted to roll it all together as (For me at least) it's a very common scenario and subsequent workflow.

    Each time I receive a DHL order (which I'm trying to promote, since USPS is hopeless for international, and FedEx and UPS are pricey), I have to do the following:

    • Print the label (1 click)
    • Print the customs form (1 click)
    • copy the customs form to get the 3 required copies

    What I'd suggest happens is that since I've printed the label, I must have the customs form,…

  13. Batch Summary in V3

    Currently batch summaries are only available in the legacy view - we do a lot of split shipments between two fulfillment facilities which requires V3 to notify customers correctly in our Shopify platform.

    Please add Batch Summary printing to V3!

  14. Make Label Messages Available on UPS SurePost Labels

    I would like to have the option of putting custom label messages on our UPS Surepost labels. Things like the order number (which I have on all of our outgoing parcels) or a message that would be visible to anyone reading the label.

  15. Shipping Label Format Printing

    We print either 4" x 6" or 4″ × 6″ (w/ Packing Slip) labels interchangeably depending on the type or size of order. We'd like the ability to switch between the two selections on the fly without having to navigate away from advanced or complicated custom searches.

  16. Commercial Invoice Content Types

    We sell books and educational materials overseas. We would like to have the drop down menu on "content types" on the commercial invoice default settings to include books and educational materials as our customers will pay less customs/duties with that designation. The "merchandise" option is requiring our customers to pay more in taxes and duties. Please help...

  17. Add Buyers Email and Phone number to Packing Slips

    We need to add the buyers email address and phone number to the packing slips - this seems like it should be easy considering the buyers email address is in the Buyer/Recipient Sold to info area of the order. We ship out most orders as gifts, so the Recipient email or phone number doesn't do us any good when we really need to contact the buyer not the recipient.

  18. Pick List - Option to Total at SKU Level Ignoring Ship Method

    On the pick list, it would be really help for each line item to be totaled at the sku level.

    Our pick list is printing with the same sku on seperate lines because the skus have different shipping methods.

    This means we have to total each line to figure out how many of that single sku to pick...

  19. Automatic correct of French addresses - DO NOT add the state

    When using Automatic Correction of international addresses, ShipStation should NOT add the state for French addresses as they are NOT used in France.

    OR

    ShipStation should truncate those state names. Some Carriers (Globegistics) limit this field to 15 chars.

    OR

    ShipStation should allow users to create rules AFTER verification and correction has been done by ShipStation

  20. Contact information on Commercial Invoice

    It would be awesome if the contact information could be pulled from the Buyer/Recipient info for the commercial invoice. I've had customers complain that they were not contacted by DHL because there was no contact info on the CI.
