The ShipStation Feedback Forum collects your ideas and allows you to vote and comment on other ideas so our product team can understand what new features are most important to you or what business challenges we need to address next.

Everyone has 20 votes to spend on ideas that are important to them (but you can comment as much as you like). 

While all ideas will get reviewed, it's simply not possible for all ideas to make it onto the product roadmap. The more activity an idea has, however, the more likely it is to be considered. So, be sure to check if your idea has already been posted so you can add your votes and comments to it! 

Suggestions for Writing a Great Idea Post

  • Write a title to succinctly summarize your post. Other users should be able to identify if their idea is similar to yours just by reading the title so they will know to vote and comment on it!
  • Explain the problem you are trying to solve and what you think should be added or changed in ShipStation to solve this problem. 
  • Describe how you would use this feature or how you think it should function to serve your need.
  • Attach a screenshot to help illustrate your point. 
  • Put the idea in the category that best fits what you are trying to accomplish (for example: Order Management, Insights & Reporting, or Printing & Documents).

What to Expect With an Idea 


Our moderators will regularly review posts to ensure:
    • They are categorized in a logical way. If not, they may move them to the proper category. 
    • The title accurately reflects the idea content so others can understand. If not, they may edit the post title to help others identify posts they want to vote and comment on.
    • That posts are really ideas and not bug reports or issues that require contacting our support team. 
    • That any request that has an existing solution or can be accomplished with existing features gets a response to let everyone know a solution or feature already exists and how to learn about it.
Our moderators will also update the statuses of posts as they are considered by our product team. If an idea makes it onto the roadmap, we'll update the idea status from Planned to Started to Completed as work progresses on the idea. If an idea is declined or archived, our moderator will update the status to indicate so and you will receive your votes back to use on other ideas in the future. 

Finally, if more information is needed on an idea, the moderator will post a reply to ask for them. If it is your idea or you have commented on the idea, you should receive an email notification when this occurs.

  1. Multi parcels with Parcel Force and Royal Mail

    You cannot create multiple labels for one destination. So if i am shipping 4 parcels you cannot add labels you have to re-do the steps each time.

    DHL has a small + sign next t package type where we can add multiple parcels but its not available with Parcel force or Royal Mail.

    Would be very helpful to add this feature.

    I am contacting support about the terms of sale on international shipments. When we print the commercial invoice and in the terms of sale box we want it to be FCA not DDU as DDU is outdated and no longer used. We have investigated how to change on our end with no luck and we think this is a change or update that shipstation needs to make.

    for carriers other than USPS, the capability to have "release without signature" printed on label.

    After we can each item on the order, we then have to manually hit "Mark Order Verified" and then we have to hit "Print Label"

    It would save a ton of time if those two steps could be bypassed and the label would print, once the last item was scanned.

  5. First name and Last Name Export Shipment Line Items Data

    Customs now requires both FIRST and LAST name on paperwork so it makes it much easier to scan through the information if separation of fields is available. If first and/or last name is missing from the customers paperwork drivers will charge extra for downtime in pulling out the packages missing that information.

    Discounts have been a tricky thing to manage, but we do understand the importance of importing discounts into ShipStation.

    Currently, there is an option for Shopify stores to import a discount code into the ShipStation “Internal Notes” field. If you’d like to have this option enabled on your Shopify store for ShipStation, please contact our support team and ask them to enable the store setting “Shopify Discount Codes In Notes” on your connected Shopify store.

    All this does is send the discount code into your internal notes, but this can be useful so when you see that the total paid is less than the Total field in your order summary, you’ll have the discount code to reference directly in the order.

  7. B13a Form

    When shipping internationally (other than in the US) any orders above $2,000 CAD needs a B13a form to be filled out.

    If this can be done through ShipStation that would be amazing because it is time consuming.

    As of right now the process is having to fill out the pdf form and then print it to out to put it on the box along with sending the form to the appropriate person via email from the carrier you are using.

    The issue is not only time consuming, but I have came across cases where there were delays on the carriers…

  8. Turn off FedEx AWB Copy label printing

    There should be an option to turn off the printing of the FedEx AWB copy label (which contains customs descriptions and values) on international shipments. Better yet, it should be turned off by default when using FedEx Electronic Trade Documents. With ETD, there is no need to include the copy with the shipment, so this is a waste of a label.

  9. logo on label

    Our logo is prominently displayed at the top of the label using Fedex Ship Manager and is shown on all labels in a multiple package shipment. ShipStation add a small, barely legible logo in the top/center of the master label only. We would like ShipStation to mimic Fedex Ship Manager capabilities with labels. Our customers look for our logo to quickly identify shipments from us.

  10. adding Product #4 #5 #6 to Label Messages

    Order information can now be added to label messages using field replacements. If you chose to add Product #1, Product #2, Product #3, you can avoid printing packing slips - as the order items are printed directly onto a shipping label, so you know exactly what items to ship (you can use a SKU's instead of printing the entire product names). Unfortunately, you can only add up to 3 messages - (3 Products in this case).   11. Australia Post International Labels Signature

    On Australia Post International Labels they require a signature. However when you select this in Shipstation it does not support Australia Post yet. This is a quick fix that all other providers have that is super frustrating for the team having to sign every box.

    Please if you can make the setting print on Aus Post international labels too with the date. Thanks so much

  12. Auto Print Pick List with Labels

    When I print a label, and give it to my packers, how do they know what to pack and were the item is in the warehouse? The packing slip has limited info on it. We need the option to auto print:
    Label / Packing slip
    or
    Label / Packing Slip / Pick List
    or
    Label / Pick LIst

    ShipStation does have a pick list option, so instead of using labels or packing slips to give to your pickers, you can use the pick list instead (which also includes warehouse location).

    You can also add the warehouse location field replacement on the packing slip, if you’d prefer to use just the packing slip option.     We are also looking at all the feedback around creating more flexible printing options around all our documents in the future!

  13. Alphabetical recipient name printing for labels

    Allow for printing of labels by RECIPIENT name a-z, currently you can only sort it by the buyer name.

  14. Add UPC field into Packing Slips HTML template (Similar to warehouse location, options etc..)

    We would like to be able to print the UPC code on our packing slips as well. However, the field does not exist in the HTML handles.

    Would be great to have it!

  15. automatic customs declaration for US military addresses

    Automatic customs declarations for US military addresses and territories; Customs Declarations are required for packages over 1lb and Shipstation requires them for all military address shipments. It would be nice to have them generate automatically, as for all international orders.

  16. Hong Kong and UAE issues - Postal Code field left empty

    Whenever customers from UAE and Hong Kong order, they leave the "postal code" fields empty since it's not applicable to them.

    However, because the postal code field is empty, labels aren't able to create unless there is information in the postal code field. So currently this creates a manual process to have to input "hong kong" and "UAE" manually into the postal code fields for these orders.

    If there is an automation or a workaround this, that would be awesome.

  17. Would love to see an automated invoice template that gets emailed to the customer

    I would love to see an automated receipt or invoice that is emailed directly the customer. Similar to the packing list however this would be an official receipt.

  18. add package type to label

    Adding what package type was selected for the label on the actual shipping label is needed. We batch print our labels based on the weight and having the package type is necessary since it will let the warehouse know what packaging to use. I checked for now it is not available to add to the label

  20. scale auto refresh on package type without clicking the scale button

    Is there a way to have the scale read refresh on choosing the "apply preset" shipping package type?
    This might be confusing so I'll tell the long version. When we use the package type hotkey or manually choose the package from the "apply preset" list one also has to also click the scale button to get an updated reading from the scale.
    It would be nice that the scale would auto read refresh on choosing a preset package from out list. whether manually choosing or choosing via hotkey. This would take one more click out of the process
