Allow User to Design Custom Report
I would like the ability to design a custom report, by choosing fields directly from ShipStation. Currently we have to export one of the set reports and manipulate columns etc in Excel, but it would be much easier if we could do that within ShipStation and have the reports complete when exported.
I’m happy to report that you now have the ability to export a custom set of fields for your orders, order items, shipments, and shipped items. (The button is found on your orders/shipments page: http://screencast.com/t/76drmaHRO) The “Order Export” and “Item Export” will still export all of the available columns to a CSV for the orders that are currently displaying (including all pages). Now you can also choose the columns for each of these exports so that you can begin to build your own custom reports by clicking the “Manage Exports” button. We’re not calling this request done yet since we want to build out the reporting functionality and the ability for you to customize how those reports look, but we wanted to let you know that you can export your data with only the columns you select.
I hope you enjoy this new functionality, and we’ll keep you updated as we work on the rest of the request. :)

Hey @Thomas Kemp T and T Distribution Co., you'll find this option in a different place today and it's available for all users.
If you are looking to export order information, click on Orders > Other Actions > Export Orders... (or Export Order Line Items...) > Create a New Format. To see all exportable columns, be sure to check "Show Advanced Options".
If you're looking to export shipments information, click on Shipments > Export > Shipped Orders (or Shipped Line Items) > Create a New Format.
Please chat with us or contact our folks at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions on these columns.

I don't have this option when I go the the section indicated in your link. Is it because I'm still in my trial period even though I've selected a subscription plan?
Please add Sku "eBays Custom Field" to the list of options to export.
We currently use this for our inventory as our dedicated inventory system does not tie in with ebay or inkfrog an neither keep records long enough to use long term. It would be nice to create and search a backup of our shipments that show what sku "our inventory number" with the rest of the information of the export.

I've already put your custom export to work, but still have a problem:
I'm using Account Edge (MYOB) for my accounting system.
It's very flexible on importing, so I've got an export template set up "MYOB export -RecordID" which defines which fields need to be exported and matching the column names.
I need to create a sales invoice for each ebay sale, but with the associated customer 'card' either one for 'in CA' or 'ex CA' for sales tax purposes.
There are a few things in the export that require me to manually open the .csv file in Excel and 'fix' the data.
1) The first and only real problem I have is the DATE field output from SS has DATE+Time, which my accounting software rejects. I can use excel to force formatting to be a Date and then export as .csv again.
2) My import requires a few specific values , which I'm achieving with the Custom Fields. I'm using all 4 of the available.
I was able to use the Filters and Automation Rules to configure the three Custom Fields for each order to have the correct data to allow importing orders.
Custom Field 1 is is a required Catagory type for the sale (Retail, Wholesale or OEM). SS only handles the Retail sales.
Custom Field 2 is the sales tax code, which must be set based on the state field. CA = CST, others=XOS
Custom Field 3 is actually a ID code which is used to tell which 'Customer Card' the orders will be imported to. I use one ID for in CA and one for outside CA.
Field 4 is another required data field in my orders.
3) But the BIG problem is importing orders so that each Order # is a separate Invoice in the accounting system.
The first time I did a batch, all the items came in to just one invoice and the payment applied was just the amount on that first Order, not the total paid for all orders.
Goal is to get each Order # into a separate Invoice in the accounts, with each payment applied.
To do this the export must add an additional LF (line feed) after each of the records with a unique Order #.
That is how the database knows to start a new invoice and it is a common format for exporting/importing Sales Records.
Could this be added as an option in the Edit Export Template???
Without this, i'm forced to manually add a blank line (LF) every time the order number changes. You can see what it looks like after my file is ready for import to MYOB (accounting system) in the enclosed file.
Imagine how long it takes and the possibility of errors having to add a LF at just the right spot in each file.
I haven't figured out a way to safely automate this addition in Excel.
PLEASE ADD A CHECK-BOX OPTION TO ADD A LINE AT THE END OF EACH ORDER (in addition to each item).
I find that the "Shipped Items" export is very useful to my business. The limitation of the report for my application is that the data can only be downloaded for all stores connected to ShipStation. This might not affect a low-end user, however, when operating multiple stores/marketplaces/sources of commerce (in our case 15), the data can be a bit much to search through when all we need is the data from one of our stores.
The added ability to search and export data from a single store would help us a lot. Going a step further on this thought process and adding the ability to mine data for any combination of connected stores, say all our Amazon stores or all our 3rd party marketplaces (Amazon, eBay, Newegg), would be immensely helpful.
Thank you for listening.

All the fields that I need for my custom report are available ONLY in the SHIPPED ITEMS REPORT. Unfortunately you do not provide the ability in the SHIPPED ITEMS REPORT to select the desired fields for custom report. Please provide the ability to generate a nice looking report, drawing from any and ALL database fields. Can we please have it ASAP.
Unfortunately, this still doesn't provide me the ability to design a useable Picklist / Order Report... I need to be able to see TAGS listed.
For example, we use TAGS to tell our packaging department what shipping class the package will use, which tells them HOW to package it... this is CRITICAL information!
It's getting really old that after a YEAR of paying for ShipStation ($468 USD), I haven't yet printed a SINGLE LABEL... all because I can't provide my employees a proper picklist with all the necessary information on it.
You can't be the HUB of a multi-channel business, and not provide the proper tools for fulfillment... a useful picklist IS your responsibility... these tools should be high priority, not an afterthought.
Seriously, please finish this work already... let us (properly) customize your OrderReport, Picklist, etc... this is stuff that should have been finished this last year.
You guys are literally holding up my new website launch...
please finish what you started, already.
I have been waiting for this feature and tried it out as soon as I got the email alert. However, I cannot find a way to make it work. I clicked on "Manage Exports" button and setup an export profile with certain field. Not sure what to do next. Can you walk us thru a scenario of how to retrieve the custom report after your specify the fields in the export profile?
When you do the shipping cost report, you should be able to do by warehouse rather then the store. I have 5 warehouses that all should be in 1 report, but instead i had to run each store individually and then add it all up. Would be a helpful feature
Give me the ability to generate a nice looking report, drawing from any and ALL database fields, adding and removing stuff at will (such as headers, footers, etc) and I'll be a happy camper. I appreciate that it seems you guys are understanding that we, the users, know what we need/want, regardless of whether or not it's the "right way" to do it, and that you're not going to continue to force us to only do things one way. Thank you.
Nice to hear it's getting the attention it deserves...
it's the one (BIG) shortcoming between ShipStation and ShipWorks,
enough that we haven't been able to migrate over yet.
Excited to see a useable picklist (or enough customization to let us design our own).
Hipsoul, well said. I cant believe that this feature isn't an option, or at least an option being worked on! At first, a full YEAR ago, I understood that these things take time and have to gather momentum, but come on ShipStation! Its a great product that is SEVERELY limited because we cant see the data that is relevant to our specific needs as businesses! Please get on the ball, this is a feature that directly effects how we do day to day business and we need it!
Also very important to consider, when you do get around to making this feature, please make sure all the fields are exportable, not just some. For instance, I need to see carrier fee and SKU on one sheet, something that is currently difficult to do, impossible with any kind of date filter.
I love ShipStation, but this is disillusioning.
I gave the max amount of votes too! How many votes does a feature request need to be accepted?
C'mon guys... still waiting to be able to create an Order Summary that's useful (in my case, as a fulfillment/pick list)... I still can't leave ShipWorks until I can export a readable list from ShipStation... please focus on these custom reports.
For the most basic example, let us remove "ShipStation Order Report" from the top of the page... it takes up a massive amount of space, while wasting ink on something NOBODY needs to read in big bold letters.
If you guys won't design useful reports, pick lists, etc... then PLEASE let us do it already... it's infuriating to see the infrastructure already built, but the project itself only half complete.
We need a Fulfillment List... by any means possible.
This really shouldn't be a feature that 152 people have to ask (and wait over a year) for.
I want to be able to drop ONLY SKU, customer full address, and order number to a spreadsheet for my dropship vendor! This is an easy feature, lets get it rolling!
I just gave 3 votes to this, I would give all 10 votes I have if I could. This is the most important feature for us. To give a specific example, there is absolutely no ability to download shipment information of orders fulfilled thru FBA. I am sure there are other issues like this that other users are facing.
By giving access to data that's already there with Shipstation, we can do automate so much of custom reporting we do every week/month. Think about power of pivot tables and all the powerful analysis/reporting one can do if we have access to our data
I agree. Each business is unique on their reporting. Having a standard for all businesses is not practical. We should be able to modify our own reports to tailor to our business needs.
I have voted for this as I have the same issue with the time and effort it takes to export and create external reports. Would also be important to add the ability to change font size, weight to be able to format in a clear way. And also to have bar-code fonts as an option sot hat certain items can be scanned for ease of input and search and avoid mistakes.
Can we please get this feature filled already?
I realize you guys are doing a lot (of stuff that I'm not finding that useful)... and it's fantastic that you're actively developing the software... but it's been over a year (and out of respect I've been paying for the service entire time, but not using it, waiting for this one feature so we can work with a readable fulfillment list).
This now has 136 votes now, the largest amount of votes for ANY feature request on here... and this isn't the only similar request on these boards (others are worded differently, but essentially the same concept = ability to customize pick lists & reports!!)... add them all up and you've got like 300 votes for this!!
The way things are right now, we don't even have spaces between our product options... the lines all run into each other, making it hard to read (and quite "unfinished" looking)... we need to remove the "Product Title" and just use the SKU... we need the ability to trim the crap out out of the Order Summary to make a clean, readable, useable fulfillment list.
You guys already laid the foundation in there, please just finish it already... it's like a Ferrari with a dirty windshield... after a year of neglect, it's infuriating every time you look at it and realize you can't do anything about it... because you're forced to wait on someone else to do it.
The time is now guys, perfect the foundation before starting on the penthouse.
I agree!!! This would make the difference between me remaining in SS or trying to find an application that can support Custom Reports.
